Intel ARC has been a great example to demonstrate this since those cards are already restricted to PCIe x8 instead of using the full PCIe x16 bandwidth typically utilized for GPUs.

I'm planning to build a desktop computer but I have a concern.
Do I need/require such a video card if I only use my desktop to run heavy processing applications (data analysis, database, etc) and occasionally watch some videos?
