XPS is the high end professional line (stiffer chassis, better build quality). Most of them come with integrated graphics. Occasionally you might see a 50 series dGPU in them.

Alienware is their gaming line.

I just scored a 13" XPS Plus (Like New) with the 13th Gen 1360P from Dell Outlet for $1044 (with 12% coupon savings). Dell claims XPS Plus with 1360P is twice as fast as the 12th gen. I am not sure about that claim, but I think it should show considerable improvements. Keep an eye on outlet, it keeps coming in and out. Here's the 12% coupon - 725612XPS

if you have an AMEX Business Card, you might get 20% off at Dell.com/amex like I have making this $720. Very tempted.

But at the same time, I could get a better processor Samsung for around 800 without any coupons.

How old is that model? And how well would it handle current AAAs? Appreciate any info!
Not good for AAA but probably more than fine for eSports. I plan on using it for usual use and occasional d4 and dota2. 15 off and 12 r10 and 10% Amex offer cb and $200 on business Amex platinum is winwinwin- gonna sell my current XPS 9305 and pocket some change for the upgrade.

Ah, ok. Appreciate it! Tend to only play single player games mostly, so I shall keep looking. One of these days I'll hopefully find one.

Saw the XPS plus vs this XPS for touch/1240p and the 1250u non touch.. any other considerations for the less than $150 difference? Worth it ?
1240p is MUCH FASTER than 1250U (saves battery and sacrifices cpu power)

With UE 5 coming out I think if you play AAa games I'd get more than a 3050. My kid primarily plays Roblox and we have a fast desktop and Series X for more intensive stuff.

I also wouldn't get a 14" if you can avoid it. The thin small chassis is gonna run hot no matter who makes it.

That's a good point, regarding UE 5 and screen size. Appreciate it! My main place of play is Series X, will mainly use whatever I end up getting for those random titles I wouldn't be able to play on SX.

i've had bad battery swelling issues with prior XPS 13s and Dell claimed it was normal and not covered by warranty. would not recommend
Battery does swell. Whether it's warranty or not is determine by the charge cycle. I think apple is like round 800 cycle.

Finally ordered, been watching XPS 13 deals for years now, and I don't think there will be another deal like this for awhile.

-$16.18 via ARMMPPS code
+$70.40 tax
-$112.23 from 13% Cashback site. (Historical high is 16%, only way this would be better)
-$120 from AMEX cashback

Where and how much did you purchase the HP?
Purchased from HP around Black Friday .edu discount. I missed the AMD laptop on the slickdeals and browsed around and found the 14" intel Z-Book FireFly G9 with1260P, 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM for ~$700+taxes. The 1240P (or sth similar, U series as well) were around $550+taxes. It lasted several hours with several different discount % that kepep changing randomly for whatever reason. At some point it got that cheap and I ordered it. Usually the best I've seen it was around $1,300.
The G9 has both SSD and RAM replaceable, it comes with 3-year warranty. The newer G10 has RAM soldered, I think.

I've had this laptop since Thanksgiving, although mine has a touchscreen, 32gb RAM and 1tb SSD. In addition to this laptop, our household also has a Macbook Pro, HP Elitebook and Microsoft Surface laptop (the latter two are employer provided ones).

All of the above have their own strengths and weaknesses, but this XPS is super solid with no flex whatsoever. The overall build quality is excellent and looks and feels very premium and well made. Contrary to some of the earlier posts, it doesn't run hot at all and the fan is very quiet. Having said that, Dell did have an optional BIOS update a few months ago, which seemed to activate the fan much earlier than it used to; a subsequent BIOS update, which I think was released about a month later, seemed to reverse the change, so the fan is now back to normal.

It is a gorgeous laptop, is super thin and is feather light. The battery life is absolutely superb, at least for a Windows laptop (the Macbook Pro's battery life is incredible, but that's a different operating system and no touchscreen).

I have two minor complaints, which I knew I'd have when I bought it. First, it has two USB-C ports and nothing else. It ships with adapters, but it's obviously not quite the same as having built-in ports. I can't even remember the last time that I wanted to use the headphone jack on a laptop, so it's not a factor for me, but others may be different.

Second, opening it takes a little getting used to, as there's no notch on the lid. You get used to it very quickly, but is something to be mindful of. I was recently flying with it, and the TSA wanted to inspect it. The TSA agent wasn't used to a laptop without a notch and had trouble opening it.

I have seen posts about soldered RAM. Personally, I do not open up my laptops, so I couldn't care less about that. Besides, all ultra portables have soldered components, but it's something to keep in mind.

The U vs. P processor comparisons that I've seen in this thread are quite misleading. In practical terms, P processors not only consume more energy (meaning that your battery life suffers), but don't necessarily result in better performance, as they run hotter and are more likely to result in throttling. So, a laptop with a P processor that throttles won't perform better (and may perform worse) than a laptop with a U processor that doesn't throttle. Regardless, for me, the amount of RAM tends to be by far the biggest constraint, which is the reason that I went with 32gb; even without throttling concerns, processor differences just wouldn't make any difference.

Weird that the invoice shows the actual laptop costing $650.06, wish you could remove the other service-based charges on the order.

Where do you get the email code? I signed up for the email, been a subscriber for a long time, but never got the code. Also subscribed a new email as well and did not find the 10% code
