You have an 80V mower that can't do grass more than 1"? Something is seriously wrong. I have the 40V version and if I let it go too long (St Augustine Grass in florida is tough stuff) it bogs down a little but it manages. And it can still self propel over anything. Wet grass makes everything worse, so I try to wait if it rained.

I'm so glad I don't have to deal with gas and the mess involved.

My daughter bought a house and the previous owners threw in several items including this model mower, and a similar trimmer and blower.

It has 4ah batteries but I was impressed with its performance. If performs as good as our gas mower.
I will try to get the wife to buy this, since she does the mowing.

I also have the 80V mower from Costco. I use the height setting on 4 and have no problem cutting grass that has grown several inches since the last cutting. I wait for any morning dew to evaporate before mowing as the grass looks nicer when you cut it dry. My speed control is variable. I mulch rather than bag as do most people in this area. I am able to cut the front and back yards on one charge. I think the lighter electric mower does a better cut than the heavier gas mower because the wheels don't mash down the grass as much. I have all my chargers plugged into a timer so charging is done on off-peak rates.

Just a note, but it is much, much better to buy from Costco than other places for the simple fact that Costco has 8 years of protection for the battery and these suckers get super expensive when they fail, and all batteries will fail

An extended program exclusive to Costco members. Beginning January of 2022, Costco customers get FREE replacement batteries for 8 years! That's right! A 4-year extended warranty on top of the current industry-leading Greenworks 4-year base warranty on rechargeable 24-volt and 80-volt lithium-ion batteries

I own 60v Greenworks products: self-propelled mower, string trimmer, and leaf blower. They are all great products. I bought them directly from Greenworks. Beware: Greenworks "customer service" is the worst I have ever experienced. I never did get the right part that was missing from my mower. On top of that, Greenworks won't allow you to leave a negative review. Summary: great products, lousy service.

You must have had a crappy gas mower.

I am on the 80V system. I love it. I have the push mower since my lawn is level. 730CFM blower is really strong. 16" trimmer is > than the DeWalt I will be selling soon.

Next purchase will probably be the snow thrower. I have a 15 year old corded Greenworks and I have used it out to 200' cutting into icy plow drifts. Can't kill the thing. I just wish the new one had the same auger instead of the hard plastic. Seems like it might be brittle for heavy use.

Bought same kit a few days ago from an earlier slick deals thread that has a different promo code for $389. What are the chances Greenworks will do a price adjustment with this new promo code? I heard they are impossible to reach.

I have the 80V mower from Costco and it's not as powerful as my previous gas mower. You can never let the grass grow taller. It's a challenge to cut over 1". Suction and self-propelling is much weaker. I have to push the mower in slopes and thick grass. Bag has to be emptied even when it's only half full. Otherwise, clippings will not be sucked into the bag. Grass need to be totally dry to cut. So you can't cut early in the morning. The speed control on self-propeller is not well designed, either it's too slow or too fast (note: my model is not same as this but supposed to be better!)
It's exciting to use the electric mower initially but after few mowings, I realize how good the gas mower was, though it was noisy and heavy.

This mower (owned by my daughter) has no trouble throwing the grass till the back of the bag unless it is wet. She stuffs the bag full before she empties.

Does anyone know how long it takes for shipping to Northern Virginia? I am on payment screen and it says nothing except "standard - free shipping".

I called them, used the call back queue, waited 1.5 hour for a call back. The lady was pretty nice, took my info and opened a ticket. Pretty much right after, got an email saying since my purchase was outside of the promotional period, price can't be adjusted. Their reason was dumb though, if it was purchased during promotion period, I would have gotten the promotion and have no need to ask for prices adjustment?!
