How long do i hold the lime for.

Is the 670p better than the P41 since it has DRAM?
I only have a gen 3 motherboard.

The only positive to this over the Intel 670p is its better looks. Otherwise, this is inferior tech with no DRAM, a clear downgrade.

Greedy companies with deceptive marketing practices think people are clueless, creating "newer" versions of existing tech just to make more sales.

Those who are not tech savvy and don't know anything about QLC/TLC and DRAM or refuse to do any research (which makes up the majority of ordinary consumers) are going to be the ones buying this drive.

Better appearance does not lead to better performance and endurance or higher quality.

Apart from no DRAM, can you elaborate on why the P41 plus is inferior to its predecessor 670p ?

Does this come with any proprietary software, for closing and secure erase?

I've only stuck with Samsung because they have utilities to clone drives and securely erase the drives if they need to be wiped.
It comes with management software that will let you secure erase and a proprietary driver that will measurably increase performance over the standard Windows driver.

How much does it matter without DRAM?
DRAM increases endurance and prevents the SSD's performance from tanking when it get close to full. the answer to that question depends on how much stuff you are planning to pack onto it. if you think you will fill it up to over 1TB very fast, then skip this and go for something like a WD 850 or 850X. samsung 980 pro, some phison E18 based SSD. etc.
