Be very careful where you decide to use this type of mulch. It really must be contained because it doesn't lock together like organic mulches do. It ends up migrating away from where you place it. It also should not be used around food crops. It's great a use has been found for scrap tires, but consider carefully if it's the right product for your application.

Also be careful about putting rubber mulch around anything alive, like trees. My wife mistakenly put some around a persimmon that I transplanted in the yard, and the tree started dying almost immediately (I was away on business). I came back home, removed the mulch, and managed to save it, thankfully. The trunk is still black near the bottom though. Crazy how toxic this stuff can be apparently.
