If spring grass growth hasn't yet started, this product will work in stopping weeds.

Depends on which part of the country you live in. If you live in the South it's probably too late.
It's good timing now in the North/Northeast.
Best to water a bit before applying so the weed killer sticks to the weeds. I ran my sprinkler for 10 minutes on each zone prior to. Once applied, you don't want to water for at least 24 hours so weed killer stays on weeds and can act against them. I waited more than 48 hours. It definitely works.
You don't want to apply this at same time as seed. In the North/Northeast best time to seed is very late summer/early fall………late August/early September….once the nights start to be cooler. The key for new seeds/overseeding is to use starter fertilizer and to make sure the seeds stay wet thru germination ( roughly 3 -4 weeks). Means watering 3-6 times a day…..but short waterings….maybe 10-15 minutes each time per zone.
Agree with all of this. One note: If buying fertilizer very early like fall of last year to apply now, you CAN have problems with the fertilizer clumping. Even in sealed bags somehow moisture gets in and clumps up the fertilizer, which then disrupts the evenness of application. The clumps block/stop the spinner of the spreader. You do want even application of fertilizer or you can get stripes of where the grass grows faster.
I've read of people storing these bags inside of special other bags so the moisture can't get in.
If anyone has links to those bags would be appreciated.
Another thing you can do is to beak up the clumps by hand. As this is weed killer it would be best to wear protection.
