Great deal, but boy is that heavy! Reminds me of my Alienware 17 R3 from many years ago. Was an absolute unit of a laptop. These are desktop replacements at best. Not putting a 7.3lb steaming hot brick on my lap!

You expect to run 360Hz on a QHD display?

Just a note if you feel so inclined this model came with a bunch of screen options so you can buy a different screen and swap it in then either resell the current screen or use it as a portable secondary. Included the available options below...

"Dell installs a matte UHD IPS panel (3,840 x 2,160 pixels) from AU Optronics with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. There are numerous alternative options, starting with three Full HD displays, which differ primarily in the refresh rate (165, 360, 480 Hz!), but also in the support of FreeSync vs G-Sync. Then there is a QHD display (2,560 x 1,440) with 165 Hz."

Not sure how the OP got it down to posted price. The codes only knock off about $400.

How is the Mediatek wireless? I always get leery about non-Intel based WiFi cards.
I have this laptop, and the Mediatek card seems to work fine. I've had no problem with drops, and the download speeds have been good too. The WiFi range has also been capable, with it still working two rooms away from the router and also in a room upstairs from the router.

Honestly, I'm not sure how well the max throughput compares to Intel Wifi cards. I've heard that Intel tends to make really good wireless solutions, so I imagine the max upload and download would be better. But, after reading old reviews on other laptops with Mediatek cards dropping all the time, it's been a relief that I can game in any room in my house without a problem.

Yeah definitely a steal. Dell steal 820 from you for a shitty laptop with shitty graphics card. You just bought a glorified ultra book.
I have a 3050 in an ASUS OLED, it's perfect for my kid's needs. At $600 I was looking at refurbs with Iris Xe at best so very happy to get a new laptop with a 3050.

You can get Dell G series laptop for same or better price with a better CPU and GPU that can actually last you a few years. Alienware x14 has USB charging which is not adequate to power a good CPU and GPU. Do better.

I just rechecked and the coupons are working just fine.

Also, how are you even getting $400 down? It's already discounted at $1499 and using the mentioned coupons gives a further discount of $250 to bring reflect the final price of $1249.49.

ARMMPPS didn't seem to do anything

Picked up a Alienware X14 with 3050 for $820 after tax plus $120 Amex and 12% cash back. Seems like a steal, hope I'm not missing something.
Code didn't work for me either

Are prices trading downward now?

I'm torn between desktop vs laptop for gaming. It will be hooked to a TV or monitor.

Rather have a 3070ti or Nvidia in general. Still sour about AMD from the early 2000s w 2 failed cards.

Still got a r7 AW 1070 that's doing just fine for casual gaming.

Go to dell website, and search Alienware m17. You would see different options. Choose the one $1499.99 (the original price$2199.99 with$700 off). Using the Gaming15 and you can get the price you want

USB-C 2.1 can provide 240W.

I don't need better than a 3050 and probably don't want it in a 14" laptop. Build quality is supposed to be better than a G series which I don't hear good things about.
