Call me crazy, but I don't like to make my purchase decisions based on what would happen if I were to die while using the product / service I'm purchasing

Not all, e.g. Chase Sapphire cards allow partial payment to still be covered. Amex on the other hand requires full payment for the trip on the card

Yes I'm reluctant also. For reference here is some info from Citi. You may use the gift card for other fees such as luggage.

When you pay for a common carrier fare in full with your Citi card, you may receive financial help if a tragic accident occurs. If you die or are seriously injured, you may receive up to $250,000 in compensation.

Not crazy, just uninformed. The tragic accident is not the full scope of what the post from veejl refers to. Some credit cards have benefits that reimburse you for expenses incurred as a result of trip delays and cancellations.

Agreed, I take bigger risks regularly. Just figured we should be informed, some credit cards may not be as stringent.

So what happen if I still pay for remaining balance that the gift card doesn't cover for example $115 using my Costco card to cover tickets that are $1115.00

Would I still be covered by cc company ?
Probably not, most cards say must be paid in full by the card

I was having an issue with address verification the last time this deal came up. I thought it was somehow tied to trying to use my Discover card and I just gave up trying. However, I finally figured this out. I had multiple addresses in my address book (go to account settings, not through cart), same address but different phone numbers and email addresses as those have changed over the years. I went in and deleted all of the extra ones and saved one version with the accurate info. Finally my order went through this time. I saw that other people were having this same issue last time as well so posting in case this might help someone else figure it out.

Must have done well the past time or two for SW and Costco. I bought one previously and worked fine for me.

How much does separate travel protection cost? Would it be better than CC protection?
