BenQ HT3550 True 4K Home Theater Projector HDR10 & HLG 2000 Lumens 95% DCI-P3. Certified refurbished, includes 2 year Allstate warranty. Like new condition. I've looked back and believe this is the lowest price ever. This projector was released in 2019, however is still recommended by top projector review sites as among the best in its class at its price point. It is perfect for me as I currently have a ceiling mounted Acer H6510BD and the throw ratio of this projector should allow a painless direct swap.

1. Light strips are a good light source for the room this is in. Put it around the edges of the room on the floor or ceiling and it doesn't wash out the screen much as ceiling lights which can be really rough on the brightness.
2. The contrast is a little on the lower side. If you have a screen under 100in or so you can probably keep the brightness and contrast around 50. My screen is 135 and I've found upping the brightness washes out the screen but adding contrast works well for brightening the contrast without making the whole screen washed out. (For sdr I have brightness at 50 and contrast at 75 - for HDR I have brightness at 50 and contrast at 70)
3. In HDR the deep color output does make colors more deep but darkens the screen a lot. If you have a smaller screen it works great as the screen is bright enough to keep up. But if you have a large screen you might have a hard time getting it bright enough with that on. instead I suggest turning it off, upping the contrast, and upping the color in the advanced settings.
4. If you are going to be using this for 3d content, especially streaming it from Plex, codi, or another source, you may need to set HDMI from ENHANCED to STANDARD. I've found that when it's on enhanced the 3D won't play right, it only comes through as SBS. And hitting the 3D button on the remote doesnt work as it doesn't recognize it as 3D content. But once you turn the HDMI-Edid to Standard it outputs just fine.
Anyway, just a couple things from my own experience. Hope they help!
Only 1199 new. Is it worth it to get refurbished? I'm wondering if they just put a new bulb in or what

You need an HDMI audio extractor if you're looking to play HDCP licensed content. Not all of them support HDCP, so make sure you get one that does if you're planning on using any kind of streaming services. That includes YouTube, at least for some content.
Essentially, this just splits the audio and video signals so you can route them separately.
However, if you're playing pirated content and your computer has multiple outputs (such as HDMI and Display Port with an HDMI adapter), you can simply route video to one and audio to another.
Depending on your Sonos device, you can also try to connect wirelessly, but you're only going to get stereo this way.
EDIT: Just to note, this projector does support HDMI ARC with the latest firmware update. So you might be able to get away with just connecting your Sonos directly to the projector, as inconvenient as that may be.

Traditional DLP is notorious for having problems with the mirror array, to the point where most of them are socketed instead of soldered to the mainboard.
I'm betting most of these are refurbished due to "stuck" pixels.
