That was the 7500 model vs the A2500 model.
The Vitamix A2500 has more features than the Vitamix 7500, but overall, they perform pretty similarly [rtings.com]. The A2500's controls include automatic blending programs and a digital blending time indicator. Its jar is dishwasher-safe and better for processing small batches of ingredients, like for a single-serve smoothie. However, you might like the 7500's simpler controls. It's quieter and better for crushing ice.

This looks similar to the Costco one that came with two tumblers for $300. Is it different?

Got this at the Costco roadshow for $500 and it came with an AER ($150ish) container. I highly recommend that you join the Vitamix family. Your life will never be the same in a good way.

Awesome, thank you! I had no idea what model Costco sold! I also didn't realize there were so many versions… new to the space.

Been waiting on a vitamix deal... Is this a good one to jump on? Should I wait for a costco one or vitamix reconditioned deal? Missed the last one from best buy.

I was trying to decide between this and a refurbished vitamix e320 ($289). This was a little more expensive but it has a 10 year warranty instead of 3 and the pre-programed settings might be nice. I don't think I'll ever connect my phone to this. My understanding is that the build quality on this is better and it might be quieter. Best buy had some solid looking deals recently but I don't know if we can expect that again. I wasn't in the market then. If a basic model went on sale it might be closer to $200 but I couldn't wait months.

Hand Wash?? Sounds like a pain. Is that just a suggestion?
