Well, you do go back. Over the same part of the floor a few times.

The best cordless I've tested (V10?) is still well below our 10yo basic DC40 corded model on everything. They're great for portability and touchups, though. Dyson batteries can be spotty, but the 2y warranty helps.
Bought this about three years ago in a weird, Macy's Black Friday in July event for $199. It's a solid vacuum and it's definitely more powerful than the V8 cordless we have. I prefer to use this one when cleaning the whole house as opposed to quick touch up cleaning with the cordless.

Not sure if this one from Walmart comes with the same amount of attachments (a lot) that the Macy's variant did.
I have both. If I'm doing a quick clean up job or dusting, I'm using the cordless. If I'm vacuuming the entire room with carpet, there is no contest between my upright, corded Dyson and my V8 stick.

I enjoy them both for different uses. The stick simply doesn't have the pulling power of the corded vacuums and the batteries die quickly and take forever to charge but they are highly portable. The corded vac is big and heavy and you have to deal with the power cord constantly but it is powerful and lasts as long as you need it.

Stick vacs are great if you live in a very small space without carpet. Anything else and I'm very glad I have both.

Thanks…In 4 1…had it in DA for awhile now. More flexible than the conventional vacs.

I have a smaller Dyson Cinetic canister that I just love. It only had one HEPA filter that supposedly never needs changing. I'll have to inspect it one day.

I'd like this because of it's larger capacity, but can't spend the money now. But, I have shared the post to friend's and Hope they get it!

Seems like it would be annoying to move around.

I've never really understood canisters vs uprights (after 1975) but a lot of people swear they're better.

I am actually opposite, uprights are so awkward, they only work perfectly for large carpeted areas.
With right attachments you can use it for cleaning tight spots and even furniture. Simply goes beyond floors.

Some dudes, may find alternative uses (I don't judge)

Try cleaning a 3600 square foot house cordless.

The jump I noticed between the v15 and the previous v6 was absolutely monumental. In fact the v15 with the gates closed on the floor head on carpet was doing as decent as the upright Miele or older dyson ball DC25 we had. So much that we have stopped using the corded machines since the past year. Plus it has a dirt detection system and increases power when there is more particles. I can indeed say it replaced our other vacuums. And you know it's working because I see sand and fine particles in the container so it's not just picking up surface dust.

But it is very pricey. We were lucky to get it around $400 at Bed Bath and Beyond when they had that coupon stacking deal. I'm curious as to how dyson could even improve the design at this point because it was that good. Yea maybe it doesn't work like a top tier upright vacuum but it's pulling more out than a typical cheaper corded upright
