Well, you do go back. Over the same part of the floor a few times.

The best cordless I've tested (V10?) is still well below our 10yo basic DC40 corded model on everything. They're great for portability and touchups, though. Dyson batteries can be spotty, but the 2y warranty helps.

Bought this about three years ago in a weird, Macy's Black Friday in July event for $199. It's a solid vacuum and it's definitely more powerful than the V8 cordless we have. I prefer to use this one when cleaning the whole house as opposed to quick touch up cleaning with the cordless.

Not sure if this one from Walmart comes with the same amount of attachments (a lot) that the Macy's variant did.

I have both. If I'm doing a quick clean up job or dusting, I'm using the cordless. If I'm vacuuming the entire room with carpet, there is no contest between my upright, corded Dyson and my V8 stick.

I enjoy them both for different uses. The stick simply doesn't have the pulling power of the corded vacuums and the batteries die quickly and take forever to charge but they are highly portable. The corded vac is big and heavy and you have to deal with the power cord constantly but it is powerful and lasts as long as you need it.

Stick vacs are great if you live in a very small space without carpet. Anything else and I'm very glad I have both.

I chatted with Dyson CS yesterday and found out that this model does not have a HEPA filter, nor is the brush head motorized, it's powered by suction. I'm probably going to return it.
Thanks for sharing. I was going to pull the trigger as I liked using canister style vacuums. Really surprised it doesn't come with a HEPA filter.

Ok maybe I'm crazy but why not buy a commercial style vacuum for the same price? Or better yet a backpack style one? They got to be stronger and more durable. If any one knows better please correct or guide me!
which one do you recommend?

If you're house is that big can't you afford a maid?

Honestly I'm a back pack vacuum guy. Buy a commercial brand.

misleading. the brush roll cannot be switched off. so not multi floor.
I have one and the head works great on low-pile carpet as well as hardwood. The brush doesn't hurt the wood and there's no drawback to it being on.

I have both lol. Honestly I've gone back to using this ball. The Miele is beautiful and so quiet, but the Dyson has a lighter wand and floor head. I love that the Dyson lets you keep attachments on the wand, too.

The brush head on the Dyson is compact and light. On the Miele it is large and heavy.

The Dyson is just easier to maneuver and use.

Debating between this one or the multi floor origin upright. Which one would u guys get? I do have kids, 2 dogs n sheds lots, tile flooring n some rugs.
Couple of cats, and someone w/ 2-3' long hair.

I have two of the orange (multi-floor) for the garage which works great. Picks up dirt, winter crud that dries in the garage and of course bits and pieces of what-not. I've moved to vacuuming with an actual upright away from the typical shop-vacs because of ease to empty (no bags nor foam) and just because it's so convenient.

Inside on carpeting we have the purple (cinetic) for the carpet and hard wood areas. It's a HEPA filter (versus the oraange ... and this deal) so every little bit helps especially when cleaning up around the fireplace with fine ash.

I'm considering the ball variant because if I want to vacuum the car, it makes it easier to lug outside and just power on.

Just got this today. Not sure how I feel about it. It's kind of awkward to use. The noise is relatively low compared to my v11 on full blast. However I did pick up a crap ton of dirt and lint my v11 leaves behind. I'll try it for a month and if I don't like I'll return it

They could not do price adjustment, so I said I can just return and purchase again and they offered $10 credit for next purchase only. Looks like Walmart changed the policy so no go.
