Hey Man, Chill out. We're all contributing to the greater good here. Thanks for the background on Squier but keep in mind that 90% volume of their US sales (largest market for them) in the last two decades is the 150-250 range which has changed recently thanks to Covid but in general the Squier, Epiphone, LTD brands are used to pump out the volume with low per piece margin hence lower quality builds.

The title for this deal is really unhelpful.

These definitely get high marks and are close to the classic vibe models which are also well reviewed. There are many different models and colors on the pro audio site. Both brand new and then open box models for about $20 less. Jazzmasters, telecasters, strats, just pick your poison.

"Usually not a recommender of Squier but this is very different. This is built in Indonesia in the same factory as Fender Indonesian Guitars. If you can overlook the Squier name this is a very good deal. "

You don't know Squier guitars, obviously. First off, the Gold Edition 40th Anniversary are better guitars with better features (gold hardware, neck binding, block inlays). Second, there are a lot of Squier guitars, including the Contemporary line and the old Deluxes, which are superior to these because they, for example, don't have the inferior 6 point trem like a 50s Strat and instead have the superior 2 point trem like the American Ultras. Lastly, if you can't get past the "Squier name" there's really something fundamentally wrong with you. They have made great guitars for decades now starting with JVs 40 years ago, including the Vistas and Korean Pro Tones in the 90s, the masterbuilts in the early 2000s, and the Classic Vibes, Standards and Deluxes, and certain artist models like the J Mascis, and most recently, the Paranormal series. Only someone who doesn't pay attention and shouldn't be making recommendations says what you said.

Not just the title - the phrase "40th Anniversary Stratocaster" is nowhere to be found in the entire post body. You can't even see it in the links due to URL shortening.

Dude... Squiers aren't bad even Phil Collen from Def Leppard used it on their last album.
https://www.guitarworld.com/news/...star-halos

My favorite guitar is my Squier Affinity Telecaster and I own guitars that cost 2-3k. The only modifications of this guitar are the pickups (which I wound) and I made it a string through body (very poorly mind you.)

If I didn't already too many guitars I would be on this deal.

Don't buy into the a guitar has to cost "X" amount to be good. Do a youtube search for 2012 Paris Double-Blind Test.
Also look for Ethan Winers Audio Myths.

Without your post, I would not have bothered to click the link. This is practically the full Squier 40th anni models for a significant discount. Your post is more helpful than all that ad-speak drivel.

Can't do the color, but would buy if a strat was needed.

I'd repaint it...fallen comfortably in the sparkle vortex lately.

The best myth-busting guitar videos are by Jim Lill:

He's a professional guitarist and has a whole series testing guitar theories.

Glenn Fricker did a blind test and was willing to give away the guitar to the person who was able to guess correctly. Of course no one was able to do so. Glenn also refers to Jim's video as well.
