I do think a machine spec like this should at least come with 400 nits. Ideally 500 nits for super bright display that really pops

Cpu, RAM disk are amazing specs though

For my own use cases, this seems almost too good to be true. I am looking for a 32Gb laptop, 16" touchscreen, etc. I have a 16Gb Samsung eBook 3 and it's been awesome. But the eBook 3 isn't available with 32Gb, isn't upgradable and their high-end Ultra laptop doesn't have touchscreen!!!

The LG Gram looks interesting. There are complaints against the speakers, but I almost always use headphones anyway, so that's a non-issue for me. The Costco deal is a lower-res screen (2560 x 1600) compared to what LG have on their site (3K 3200 X 2000). But I almost never consume video, at least to the extent that the quality is particularly important to me (my eBook 3 is 1920 x 1080 and works for me just great).

The 350 nits is a worry. I don't really know how big a deal that will be in my day-to-day work.

I cannot figure how/why Costco are offering this for almost half the price of the same laptop on the LG site [lg.com] ($1,099 vs $1,999), The only difference I can see is the 3k display, but everything else seems the same, as far as I can tell.

It almost feels like LG changed their mind about the display and Costco got landed with the lesser screen, so trying to dump them now Smilie

I am genuinely wondering if I am missing something here. Seems a bit too good to be true.

I returned MBA m2 that I bought two weeks ago from Costco because I prefer this. Return was hassle free no questions asked. Big thumbs up for Costco return policy.

Thanks! Did you get this yet? Wondering if the fan is noisy, heat distribution a problem?

I picked mine up a couple of days ago and I have to say I am delighted so far. The more subjective elements of the experience (display, keyboard, speakers, etc) have turned out to be either no problem at all for me or irrelevant for my use cases.

It is, of course, amazingly light but the chassis "flex" I have read about is also not a factor for me at all. The fan isn't something that bothers me with. Aside from a couple of minor display adjustments, I am largely using default settings. I have used this for a while on my lap, albeit for just regular browsing/email, etc and have no issues with heat.

The only minor red flag for me is that estimates for battery seem pretty unfortunate. With largely default settings, Windows is estimating use of about 5 hours (!) and the % does seem to be falling quicker than my Book 2, for normal browing/email stuff. But I haven't actually drained it yet since I am almost always near a plug (2-3 hours on battery is about the most I will ever do), so this is minor worry for me.

I was in the hunt for a laptop with 32Gb (upgrading from my excellent Samsung Book 2, which only has 16Gb) and touchscreen. The transition to 16:10 is also very nice.I would have gone for a Samsung Book Ultra, which is FAR more expensive than this, But that doesn't have touchscreen, which is a showstopper for me.

To have achieved my objectives with a laptop that cost me around $1,100 is well, well below what I was prepared to spend so - this far at this least - I am delighted. Here's hoping my impressions remain this positive with continued use. I am going to hold on to my Book 2 for another week or two, just to be sure, but I suspect I will be able to get a back a good chunk of my money by selling that.

Very light fan noise could only be heard when they spin in full speed, and this was in a quiet environment (2am). For heat, I barely felt any while typing but definitely noticeable amount on the back. It wasn't a problem to me cuz I found I had to flipped the screen to tablet mode or else it's just too big of laptop to put on my lap. Overall, I'd say I'm quite impressed by it, especially by features thru facial recognition camera.

I picked up both the 17" 32gb one, and this 16 2 in 1 32gb one from Costco when they were both on sale. Comparing the two so far:

17: slightly prefer the screen since it is matte; weight is lighter; it loads webpages faster; has fingerprint login (though I couldn't get it to work)

16: sound is noticeably better; much less fan noise; keyboard is a little easier to use; has camera login

I'm leaning towards keeping the 17 and returning the 16 as I don't use the touchscreen/stylus much. But I've only spent about 10 minutes with each.

Thanks for that info. My current 5 yr old HP envy has a very noisy fan that runs a lot. Fan noise is an important factor for me. I don't mind the glossy screen as I think they are crisper and I actually prefer them.

If you read reviews on Costco website 2 out of 5 reviews say they experienced fan issues. That means even if you don't experience it right away it might start happening a few months down the road, which is what I'm worried about. I bought it but thinking of returning it.

That could be a concern. Costco has 90 day trouble free return policy, right?

I'm also wondering how to tell how many "nits" a screen is rated. I hear some folks saying 300 nits isn't enough. I'd like to know what my current laptop is to compare but can't find that info anywhere.

I believe it's rated at 350 nits. Having used it for a couple of days, including in pretty bright locations, it is nowhere near as much as problem than I anticipated. For my own use cases it's a complete non-issue, but suspect this is a little subjective.

Yes, Costco has a 90 day return period, as well as automatically extending the 1 year warranty to a couple of years.

You're right it's 350 nits on that one. In truth, the subjective rating is probably just as good for me who can't even find out what my own laptop is rated nits-wise.

The return policy is why I went ahead and ordered one. Should be here Wednesday. My chase card adds another year on top of Costco's 2 year warranty.

Sapphire but I think a lot of credit cards do this. AMEX might add two years but I don't think Costco accepts them.

In for one also, I do some editing images and video on my laptop, hopefully the brightness is OK.

can you update on the battery now? as far as i see, only your comment mentioned battery as an issue, others pick it up as a long battery usage for this laptop

I turned off auto brightness along with some other recommended settings in battery section, it's showing 11 hours for 89% battery.
