This drive is slower than most Gen3 drives.

But for like $10 more you can get a better drive. Is $10 going to make or break your build?

For that build it would make no difference. It was an extremely basic build where they couldn't even notice the speed difference. At the time I got the cheapest 1TB I could find, was $47 back then. The $10 would've been better spent on a mouse pad honestly.

My mobo has 4 SSD slots so for $35 I'd throw in an extra TB. For a normal PC build this is only good for additional storage.

Given the price it's still a good option for storage or a budget build like an ITX I recently did for a friend.

Price is really cheap. What is the cheapest decent enclosure that wont catch on fire if on all the time with this NVME?

Not sure if people have noticed this, but drives with longer warranty (say 5 year?) almost always have lower *rated* tbw. Probably a trick by manufacturer to avoid warranty

PNY is the one brand I will never buy from again. Burned me twice on RAM and SD cards.

I'm looking for an SSD to add to my laptop that won't hurt the battery life too much.
It says this has low power draw - is this true? I saw the previously posted Samsung EVO drive ran hot and had significant power draw, but I'm not sure how to judge this.
Thanks

Thanks for this, I decided to get a cheap SSD to throw in this USB/HDMI hub I got for my Steam Deck. Looks like speeds exceed the USB 10 gbps cap (somewhere around 1200 MB/s) so should be good enough for that use.

Is a tiny bit of speed going to break it when you only run os and word processing?

This is cheap/good enough to use as a flash drive, right?

Hynix P31 is best. Low heat/low power/fast.
