A pretty standard level of brightness we could find for this type of laptop. Surely not for outdoor use, but generally sufficient for everyday use at home.
But for me, but the non-FHD 768p resolution of this is more concerning factor.

My son has this Laptop. His biggest complaint is the silver keyboard. He says it's hard to see the letters in low light. (bedroom).
Other than that. is an OK Laptop.

We took it out of S-Mode and tweaked it.. For $299, Not bad at all..

Looks like it, but older Windows 10 model and not available for shipping and YMMV.

How does this compare to the HP 15-dy2713st from Staples for $329?

Do you think for $30 more the deal from Staples is better because of the better display monitor and better CPU i3-1125G4?

I would say YES if the budget is not that tight. They are basically the same except:

CPU: 4 cores/8 threads [hp.com] vs 2 cores/4 threads [hp.com]
Core i3-1125G4 has comparable multi-core performance [cpubenchmark.net] of Core i5-1135G7, but a much weaker GPU.
RAM: 1x8GB (+1 empty SODIMM slot) vs 2x4GB
Display: FHD 1080p vs HD 768p
Connectiviity: ac (2x2) Wi-Fi + BT5.0 vs ac (1x1) Wi-Fi +BT4.2
OS: Win 11 Home vs Win 11 Home S mode (though easily to swtich out with few clicks for free)

768p display is still OK for me for a 14" or a smaller, but not for a 15.6" or above, unless it will be mostly used with a external monitor.

However, both prices are not really very attractive, unless you really need to buy one now. A similar model was availble for $250 in BF sale last year.

I needed one now so thank you for the very detailed comparisons. The one from staples for $30 more is a no brainer. Thanks

I cannot find the information from HP officially. But according to this page [quill.com], the panel is IPS

Also datasheet [1worldsync.com] FYI if needed.
