Digital Wallet purchases include some online purchases and some in-store purchases made with your smartphone, tablet, or wearable. Wallets that qualify include Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Garmin Pay and in store with Google Pay. Apple Pay transactions included in this offer are transactions made in-store or online when using the Apple Pay button. Listed merchants are in no way sponsoring or affiliated with this program. Certain third-party payment accounts and digital wallet transactions may not earn 5% if Discover does not receive sufficient transaction detail for the purchase to be identified as being through a digital wallet. Discover does not determine the transaction details it receives for purchases. Using digital wallets to make purchases at gas stations will only earn a total of 5%.

4506-c suggests sharing with them your tax returns... That they will pull through Equifax
Do your research before commenting. And yes, there is a ton of wrong with sharing my tax returns for a $1000 CL (reportedly what they offer new accounts with excellent credit nowadays). No other bank demands this form. Aside from this, they must make it clear they will request this privacy intrusive form during the application, not after I get a hard pull from them and have to cancel the card not bowing to their ridiculous demands.
You dont have to view tax returns to determine one's credit. There is a reason credit scores/reports exist. They are not entitled for my entire tax returns for a credit card

I didn't use it for years and years, they used to (back in the 80s and early 90s) give me a $25 bonus if I used the card just once, so I'd do that, and put it back in the drawer for another year. They never cancelled the card in spite of my non-use, and when they started giving cash back on purchases, I started using it a bit more. It's now my oldest line of credit, as I mentioned above. Discover is fine to use when the 5% categories are what I need, but I won't be using it for "digital wallets" or "gas stations" in the next three months. I can get 4% back at Costco on gas everyday, and I don't have or use "digital wallets". Let it collect dust for three months, and we'll see what category they offer Oct-Dec. Hopefully it's better that this.
If they take digital wallet go for it! But i bet they are cheap as f k
No, thanks!
How many of you here had to send this form to them?
They usually request it if you apply for a second discover card. I've never seen them ask for first time cardholders.
Getting the category bonus is based on the merchant code of the business. I assume many gas stations attached to grocery stores (etc.) don't code as straight gas. Try it and see.
In past years, I would pay my Progressive bill via PayPal on desktop.
ETA: Thanks to nash_dub, Discover site states in-store only for Google Pay. I might not be able to do as earlier thought.
