I enjoy mine. Check with your electric company, a lot of them have rebates. I got mine for a lot less.

I've been using one of these in my home for 7 years and installed one in my mother in law's shortly after getting mine. They are no frills and great to use and minimal battery replacement on my part. Also works well with Alexa.

Looks like this is operated by battery only.
I've had one for 1.5 years. I have a C wire, but wasn't sure how to hook it up, so I didn't bother. The battery says it still has a full charge. So no, it is not battery only, but it runs just fine on only the battery.

Are you sure you didn't hook up the C wire?

I have several of these and if you're using the WIFI chip the battery probably won't last a year and a half. WIFI uses a lot of power because it's always running.

I replace the battery every 6 months with a lithium battery. I have the same themostat and it could be free with your electricity provider

That sounds reasonable.

I don't believe two AA alkaline batteries would last anywhere near that long.

Battery or C-wire but if you plan to use the wifi you'll want the C-wire hooked up.

On mine, the battery is for backup. My batteries are not rechargeable and I think I've replaced them and I've had this thermostat for several years already. I have it hooked up to the electricity for the thermostat.

Incorrect, it comes with batteries as a back up, but is powered by HVAC
