this is a high quality rice, japanese grain grown in california. growing up with a japanese grandmother though, i find this kinda middle of the road, master of none type of rice. basically, the grain size and stickiness aren't conducive to the best sushi, nor the best side starch. but it will be good or better in most applications and the delivered price is good. no one ever died regretting they had some extra rice on hand, grab a bag or two for the house and one or two for charitable, tax deductible donations

Any tips to get this rice less sticky? Do you rinse more, rinse less, use less water? TIA
you should probably just get a different variety of rice; this one is sticky on purpose...

Quite honestly, unless you're super picky about the rice in homemade sushi, I would get the Homai brand from Costco. It's $41 (@ my local Costco) for 50lbs. It's good enough for home use. Even tho rice is the star in sushi for purists, I'm more interested in the quality of the fish.

I also like to mix a 2:1 ratio of this to brown rice too make it a bit more healthy for "table rice".

Thought about it and will get in on it. My usual sushi rice is the Wismettac Premium Koshihikari short grain, which makes excellent sushi rice (I also buy Japanese rice, but it's quite expensive). Nishiki is decent for sushi IIRC, and at this price it's a steal.

I am a bit afraid of eating anything from japan after having to work with the physics department on a few projects, they were pretty straight, only if you want to glow in the dark. yummy

Can't seem to replicate deal. It says 1 option from $11.24 but then it's not listed and the cheapest is $28.39, deal seems to be dead.
