Decent for a beater that looks like a classic Rolex Submariner. I think Quartz is better but maybe @$99 , an auto at the price would be nice

With Citizen ecodrive, Seiko solar, and automatics, there's just no need for a watch that needs a battery any longer.

I get the appeal in automatics. I have a few myself that I paid a premium for. But I keep going going back to my trusty quartz Movado as my daily driver. Quartz is just so much "easier". I guess it's also partially laziness on my part.

Eww quartz ? I would never

Note, quartz movements. Would have been an amazing deal on automatics.
I find that automatics just add more complexity, hassle, and labor to my life. Eco-Drive solar all the way for me.

I agree, but the vast majority of folks aren't watch enthusiasts, and won't care. For them, a quartz movement will be easier and more practical.

Even as a watch guy who mainly collects autos, I'm tempted to pick up one as a beater.

I am a watch guy that likes quartz and it is hard to find items that have great case and bracelet specs and a quartz movement.

Eh… everything has its place and pros and cons.. I have all variations. Most annoying is auto, need to set it, adjust date burn or when it's between danger zone times, then wind it, make sure it's not near magnets, don't bang it too much…but prettiest and still cool. Eco drive is amazing for the "low maintenance " but you need to give it light every so often and good luck if it has a perpetual calendar or something. Sucks the battery fast if you try ti change modes. Quartz is by far, the easiest I have. Battery goes strong over 5 years and you don't have to think about it.

Try code FB10 if you want this for $161.10

I went with the GMT version and coke bezel. With FB10 and a little rebate hunting you can net this one below to $172 with free shipping and no tax for me.

This is an Invicta. They make all Glycine watches.
No they don't They are owned by Invicta Watch Group. Glycine is made in Switzerland with apparently the same place where they made watches before Invicta bought them.

Think of it this way, Swatch Group bought Hamilton, and Omega etc. They are not swatch.

The 2 colors on the bezel are a gimmick. They normally used for the 2nd time on GMTs, to tell whether it's daytime or nighttime.
I'm guessing 99.99% of GMT or even submariner owners don't use their watches for multiple time zones or even diving or timing anything other than regular local time.

Solar watches still use batteries, but they are rechargeable. They will eventually still need to be replaced with a more specialtiy battery at some point although a lot longer than a normal button cell battery. And autos in time need maintenance..of course could be many many years out depending.
Regular quartz can last for years too and easily replaceable and very cheap to do DIY
