it was overnight at narita airport. everyone affected got full refunds and were provided sleeping bags, water and snacks. i wouldn't mind spending the night at narita and getting ramen or bento box.
It's caused by strong cross wind. After a few failed landing attempts, the flight landed on the alternative airport. When it finally reached the destination airport, it's 7 hours late. No immigration staff was on duty at late night. No transfer flight could take off at late night. Therefore passengers were stranded in the airport until next morning.
Starlux is a new small airlines with few airplanes. The delay of the flight caused cascaded delays.

At the street vendors, we ate breakfast for 3 for $9! Lunch and dinner can be had for $10 or less. At more upscale locations near Taipei 101, we ate for 4 for $100. Note $100 is for quality fresh seafood and multiple alcoholic drinks, which would have cost double in the US.
Also note that only capital one and Discover have zero international transaction fees. Therefore, you must exchange cash to be safe. I took $1000 USD, exchanged to 30,000 NTD for 3 weeks and it lasted with $100ish left over.
I am originally from Taiwan but left at 5 years old. This is not a poor country. You'll see rich ass ppl and multiple Bimmers and Teslas and numerous skyscrapers etc. Everything is cheaper than anywhere in the US, except realestate. An 800sq feet 1 bed, 1 bath apartment in Taipei will cost about $600k. Food is excellent. Make sure to visit night markets with street food vendors. You can numerous things for $1 or $2 USD.

The travel credit cards show up on many sites as these sites get paid by many of these annual fee based cards.
They won't list other cards with no foreign transaction fees as they don't make money from them.
Also: Credit for the honesty I guess, but ew.

The Costco Anywhere Visa® Card by Citi does not have foreign transaction fees on purchases.

Not me, just from a single friend that is into this type of activity. Thailand was his favorite - three there. Brazil was his most recent fun trip.
