Approximately 1000 improvement.

Edit: plus the "ti"
Great upgrade for those on a 4060ti
Patience people. There is still a very long way for the GPU market to slide down.

After seeing the reviews on 4060Ti and it's $400 MSRP, I ordered the MSI 3060 Ti ventus for $280. Having seen NVidia GPU pricing for the last few years, I doubt that the 4060 Ti will drop below MSRP anytime soon.

I don't know if I can hold much longer lads, this is a pretty slick deal.

Think of your grandpa, or baseball, if you want to hold it a little longer.

People say to hold on buying other stuff (go into any SSD thread), but it's somehow different with this GPU?

Saving is more important to me. If you already have a decent GPU, even more so.

Actually, there has been near zero demand for the 4060Ti, so this alone will lead to discounts soon.

You can't use previous years as an outlook because there was a supply shortage and crypto boom leading to stiff prices.

Now we have none of that.

So unless nvidia decides to cut supply, or TSM fab blows up, supply and demand will likely drop prices further.

Also, i think since Nvidia now has pricing power in AI chips in the current AI fad, they can afford to discount retail gpus further.

You might be right. As I was typing it I was thinking... 🤔 or was it 16... But I definitely think another 8GB is worth the $100. Especially if you plan on playing with any GPU accelerated local LLM AI's.
Not really. The 16gb will be pretty useless on it. The memory bandwidth is like 220 gbs.

It's just not suited for anything other then 1080p.

The performance is really bad even when not memory limited at all, usually losing by a few frames to a 3060ti.

Would be silly to pay 500 for that and not to pay another 100 to jump up to a 4070.

It's a crapshoot. People have been saying hold the line literally since the market skyrocketed with the 3000 series nvidia's and the market is only just now starting to come back down to MSRP. The fact that the 4000 series cards are not much of an improvement if any over the 3000 series cards may cause the market to stay inflated, as the older cards are going to hold their value better since the newer cards aren't really much better.
Thanks for the advice!

Is this for real? I have a 3060ti card and was wondering if 4xxx series worth upgrading.
Keep your 3060Ti. Check out a channel like Gamers Nexus and see the very marginal performance increase the 406Ti has over a 3060Ti.

You're better off looking at a 4070 for a real upgrade.

Yeah, I'm not sure how much 8gb vram matters for gaming, but definitely if one wants to do any of the local AI things, specifically local LLM's, the 8gb won't work very well (at least currently). Will want at least 16gb for that, though 12gb might work for some small models for short periods of time.

Not a deal used 3070s low as $269 on Ebay now and dropped by week.
Yep. Also, 10gb 3080's go as low as $350 and 12gb 3080s go for $400-450 if you're patient.
