Tesla Model 3 RWD starts at $40,240 but is now eligible for the full $7,500 federal tax credit (income limits apply). Previously, it was only eligible for $3,750. This makes the starting price $32,740 after tax credit.

Deal is even sweeter if you live in a state with additional credits:

VT: $26,320
MA: $26,830
PA: $27,330
RI: $27,820
DE: $27,820
NY: $28,320
CA: $28,330
CO: $28,330
CT: $29,030
ME: $29,320

Full tax credit details below, but the following income limits apply:

$300,000 for married couples filing jointly
$225,000 for heads of households
$150,000 for all other filers

NO IT DOES NOT.

Withholding is totally irrelevant to qualifying for the credit.

If you're unclear on this go read a 1040.

The part where you compute tax liability is lines 16 through 24.

THAT is where the $7500 EV credit comes off.

Your withholdings aren't even looked at until after that on line 25+

This is also not correct.

The Child Tax Credit is worth a maximum of $2,000 per qualifying child. Up to $1,600 is refundable for the 2023 tax year.

Refundable credits are computed AFTER non-refundable ones-- so the CTC is only "worth" $400 off your tax burden for these purposes- the $1600 left is refundable.

Thus if you had say $7900 in tax burden and one CTC and one EV credit, your tax burden would go to $0 and you'd get a full refund of the $1600 refundable part of the CTC

I am waiting for the cooled seats option in the model Y. Apparently it showed in the new manuals. However, my friend who follows Tesla and is very much invested it its stock, told me that the redesigned model would have even less "buttons" than the current one. Decisions, decisions

Camry and Accord are larger than Model 3. Model S should be compared to those. Civic and Corolla are the same size as Model 3 and the base prices for those are currently cheaper.
In what way are Camry and Accords larger than a model 3? Are you referring to external dimensions or internal leg room, headroom, cargo space?

I don't understand the obsession with hating Tesla or Elon. No other car brand is this divisive.

I wonder if it's mostly political and ignorant people spreading misinformation.

The only unfair thing I see about this deal is the income limit. Certain areas have a much higher cost of living than others and keeping it all the same across the board is not very fair. Average house in CA is now $1M. That's more than double the national average. How is it fair for people living in high cost areas? People making over $150k in certain parts of CA, probably couldn't even afford to buy a Tesla.

As someone that recently purchased a Tesla. Keep in mind your insurance, registration, installation of equipment, charging will add to the cost of owning an EV. Don't buy an EV for the purposes of saving money for gas. Also, range on these is vastly ymmv (literally). An average w5 mile commute one way on the freeway 4x a week doesn't get me any better mileage than a hybrid

you have to owe at least $7500 tax to get the full benefit
Owe as in....over the entire year. You could have already been paying it every pay check and it would still count. They care about your liability, not amount owed at the end.

When the company folds there will be a fire sale. Good luck on repairs though.

I think everything you pointed out is litterally something you would pay for in an ICE car anyway right? and "instalation of equipment" are you talking about the optional charger? I use mine to charget at home for the past 3 years without getting any extra stuff installed. Lastly YMMV is right "dont purchase an even for the purposes of saving money" i charge at work and at home. I am definitely spending significantly less than what i use to pay for gas.
