They haven't ever seen a mining operation and the amount of diesel fuel burned to extract ore.

It's okay though, large copper mines are only in a handful of countries. Oil is everywhere. It takes 20 years to bring a mine online. We can add oil drill rigs within weeks. The EV Revolution isn't going to happen; there's not enough metal. The grid can't support it. You got multi-year backlogs for electrical transformers.

And then you have the issue with battery technology. So many EVs purchased years ago have batteries no longer produced. So you need $20k or more just to get a battery special ordered.
???? large copper mines? did you mean lithium? Do you think batteries are made out of copper because of duracell advertising and not lithium? HAHA omfg this is gold

edit: oh youre saying that its not even about lithium youve gone off the deep end into claiming we dont even have enough power transformers LMAO people charge EVs when grids have the least load (at night when everyone is asleep). even if people for some reason started charging during the day at peak load (which makes no sense) we have this technology called micro grid and have had it for like 2 decades. Tesla literally sells them by the boatload. Its called a home battery and solar. Americans have been adding megawatts of solar every year to neighborhoods with the help of tesla. We have this huge thing called the "sun" that delivers unlimited power to us and tesla lets us capture it and store it. im gonna guess you just woke up from a coma or something

Not true at all because the USA isn't the sole provider of oil in the market. OPEC and Russia have a lot more impact collectively. Even if the USA ramps up oil production, OPEC has often cut production and bankrupted American producers because they control oil prices. At best, we can moderate some of the prices. Getting out of this broken and volatile petroleum cycle for transportation use is one of the best thing we could ever do as a society by not being so dependent on one system.
Yes, it's absolutely true. Oil is found all over the world. Go look where copper is. Buried in the Andes Mountains. There are mines operating at altitudes where diesel machinery has difficulty operating. It takes decades to find copper and get it permitted for a mine.

Oil is far easier to ramp up and down production. It's far more diversified geographically. Half the world's copper production comes from Peru and Chile.

I'm not sure how the rebate works with Tesla but it's supposed to happen through the dealer. Anyone with experience?
