I really don't need one of these. I'm not even sure I want one of these, but every time it pops up, I'm so tempted.

No idea when the deal will end, but it is has popped up a few times in the last sixth months, but the first thing to try with your old electric acoustic guitar is replacing the battery with a new one.
you can find this price on other sites so no need to wait for this sale. i was about to buy this one and looked around but ended with a fender a/e that was on sale on adorama. sounds amazing

Acoustic Electric guitars have batteries? Basically I can plug in my "realtone" USB to guitar cable into my electric guitar and it is completely quiet, but my acoustic electric has buzzing.
I never knew that acoustic electric guitars even had batteries but sure enough, I pulled out the area that had the dials and found a 9 volt that expired in 2011... I'll get a new 9 volt and test that tomorrow.
Yep, acoustic-electrics have a battery that powers the preamp to give the signal from the piezo pickup enough "oomph" to properly drive the signal needed for the amp/pedal/Rocksmith cable to receiving it.

The buzzing could be something else, such as a loose jack/wire or failed component, but the battery is easy thing to check. Also, on Rocksmith you might need to calibrate the guitar again just due to the difference in signal. And when it says to mute the strings, mute the strings and then remove you hand. There are tons of posts on Reddit and other places with tips about reducing the buzz. I would also test it with a normal amp to see if it is a Rocksmith specific problem or anything you connect it to.

Good luck!

Its on sale again!

i don't normally recommend guitars unless im blown by the value because guitars can be very subjective to a persons taste and ear.

This is a smaller body with a rich bright sound.

that said, i would say this has a sound comparable to a $700 takamine a/e i have. build quality has no complaint except 1 paint bubble on headstock. no biggie.
the color is much more subtle and not as vibrant as the online photo..according to my monitor.

Thanks for the advice! I opened it up and the battery expired in 2011. I put a new one in and set up a new guitar but when I strum the strings it doesn't play at all. It is possible I put the battery in the wrong way, there wasn't any engraving saying which way to put it in.
I'm astonished this sale is still going on.

The acoustic electric guitar belonged to my wife as she was in a worship band 15 years ago, but if we can't figure it out, I guess I will just buy this. I am tired of trying to debug the electric guitar issue and I also only got it for 60 on a good sale, so I could possibly sell it for almost that much. I didn't realize straight electric guitars have a battery?
