I own an excellent ice cream machine, with a built-in compressor so there's no pre freezing of a bowl or anything like that. In fact I made ice cream with it last night and it was excellent. But I'm still very excited to get my Ninja.

As others have said, my machine and the Ninja are not comparable at all because they work in entirely different ways. The result is that the Ninja can do things that literally only one other machine on the market is capable of (the $6500 Pacojet).
Where you been able to do non dairy based/low card/fat non icy consistency in you're ice cream maker? Because I have one as well, and I have been doing lot of twists and different recipes but can't get consistency as store ice creams and definitely it hard as rock when I freeze it.I just give up using my 300$ ice cream maker with compressor…

There is nothing like this on market for an home use. There is similar machines that coast about 6k called Pacojet for an restaurants…their potent expired so Ninja were able to use it and create Creami for an home use.Other ice cream makers not able to do what creami does.
I suspect there are desserts that Ninja Creami does not make well that regular ice cream makers easily accomplish (for example making real ice-cream by churning with air and then freezing the mixture). Similarly, ice cream machines may not be able to replicate the shaved/blended frozen fresh dessert consistency that many posters here seek. In addition, i think this blended mixture requires immediate consumption or else would probably need to be re-blended again if kept in freezer which is more work/cleaning.

I wouldn't say so.I have my self regular ice cream maker with compressor and have made regular ice cream few times and it's still freezes and rock solid and icy too, the only way it's good from mu expirience, when you eat right away but rest you shouldn't freeze, because after that it's not possible to eat.You have to add so much sugar to stabilise it so it will be even worst then what you can buy in store, because store one have stabiliser in those. While with creami you freeze it and spin, you haven't finish you freeze the rest and spin again…

I'm wondering if anyone got the shipping confirmation or anyone know when they ship usually?

I wish they had a trade in or upgrade situation. It's been about 2 yrs and there's 3 versions out plus different pints, accessories for each. For now, my 7 in 1 works fine, although I'm taking a mini break from using it since I need to restock on ingredients, mainly milk and sugar substitutes. I was having a pint per day, sometimes protein ice cream for breakfast. At the very least in helped my protein and calcium intake. Would rarely have milk previously, unless I had a random cereal craving which wasn't often

Oh that was my point- I haven't been able to. That's why I'm so excited to get the Creami. Some reviewers have pointed out that the Creami makes a slightly icier ice cream than a traditional machine, because it isn't actively churning air into it, but that's a sacrifice I'm willing to make (if I can't convince the lady we need two ice cream machines in the cupboard).

Received mine today and just ordered the extra Deluxe pint containers from Ninja. Looking forward to trying it out and am hoping I didn't just spend a few hundred dollars on something we'll never use!

Waiting for this to come back to Costco. Not sure about the durability of this item.

Just for clarity, the one linked in this thread is the "Deluxe 11-in-1" model whereas Costco sold the the original model, which has a smaller container.
