Beginning in 2024, everyone under the income limit qualifies for the full $7,500 rebate. It does not matter if you owe less than that in taxes, and you can get it at the time of purchase instead of waiting for next year's taxes.

edit: For clarification from the wiki: "The tax credit is not refundable, which means one must have federal tax due to take advantage of it. If the tax due is less than the credit amount, one can only claim the credit up to the amount of the tax due."
So lower income people will not get a $7500 refund, it depends on your liability. i.e. A SDer responded about a student being angry in a previous thread that they only got $500 back and not $7500.
Virtually all of the ICE vehicle can be recycled. Generally the only items not recyclable per se will be interior trim - it's mixed plastic and rubber. Engine? steel or aluminum. Gearcases? Steel or aluminum. Body, frame, etc, steel or aluminum. In fact, about 86% of a car can be recycled [recyclenation.com].
Meanwhile your EV will still have a fully and readily recyclable frame and body, just like the ICE. The motor will generally be recyclable. The battery? Not really. Generally batteries and battery packs are not really designed for recycling. Most are just thousands of individual cylindrical cells, that themselves are spiral wound multilayer structures. There's no easy way to separate the materials here. An ICE, you literally rip out the engine with heavy equipment and include it in with any other steel or aluminum - the process is astonishingly easy and quick [youtube.com] with heavy equipment.
Meanwhile, the batteries are generally just shredded [ucsusa.org]. The resulting material is called "black mass" and is placed into a bath of caustic chemicals to leech out the *important* elements. In certain cases, that black mass is first incinerated to burn off plastic and epoxies. Yeah that sounds super efficient and environmental to me.

We have one and adore it, so if anyone can get one, do. We're likely buying our lease out.
They said their actual tax liability was $5,300 before their 2 child tax credits/earned income credits, etc to bring it down to $1,300. As kids age, families lose these credits and by the time kids are 18, the parents have to pay full taxes and will need to find other deductions to reduce their tax liability.
Someone asked who waits that long. Go to any costco and you'll see them.
So you announced we can ignore those many many people because...it doesn't work well for your argument....not any valid reason.
I guess maps aren't your strong suit either.
But even for those it IS true of, it's still a non-zero amount of time to go from driving 45-60 mph on the road to slowing down, pulling into the station, pulling up to the pump- then after the pumping to pull BACK into traffic and get back up to speed.
Again you appear to just pretend all the things you don't like don't exist.
All of that is more than 30 seconds.
But by all means- please take a video where it shows you at normal highway speed, start a timer, pull off into a gas station, get out, pay for the gas, put in 15 gallons, put the pump away, get back in, get back into traffic and back up to speed, then stop the timer.
It's going to be considerably longer than 3 minutes. 2-3 times that at least.
And I'm sure there's SOME non-zero times you pull into a station and it's busy and you have to wait for a pump too.... there certainly were times like that at least occasionally when I drove gas cars- both in the city and rurally so please don't tell us that never happens either.
Why did you put your charger 25 feet away from your car? That seems like a you problem.
Mine is about a foot from my car on the back wall of the garage and I back in, there's never anything to "wind up"- I just unplug and put it down. Or pick it up and plug in.
I actually just walked out to time this.
Opening my garage door I have to walk directly past the charging handle in the charge port to get to my drivers door.... turning slightly to remove the handle and put it down and turn back toward the door took.... 4 seconds.
Double that for each side of the transaction and it's actually UNDER 10 seconds total.
So you're still batting 0 on this one.
Anyway, that's under 1 minute, total, assuming you drive 5 days a week.... slightly over 1 minute, total, if you drive 7 days a week. 1 minute versus 5-10 for the gas station stop... (or possibly 2 stops if drive 7 days a week).

I think if you order one it will be MSRP. Check car deal/price sites like Costco purchase program as well. They many get the price better as well.
Camino Real Chevy in Monterey Park is marking up $1000 (flat) but they also allow up to $10k payment via credit card.
The idea for me is to use a new cash back credit card to offset most of the $1k markup.
As for rebates, it varies by state but here's a couple of things to consider:
Total $9500 in tax rebates/credits I am getting out of this, + the $1000 credit for home charger installation. Roughly speaking it will make my ~$29500 Bolt EUV ($28500 MSRP + $1000 markup) about $22k after TTL, and perfect timing since I was in the process of getting another daily driver.
