The battery is covered by a 8 years/100,000 miles warranty in event of failure.

The battery pack replacement (the worst case scenario) costs $15,734.29.

And the average age of cars on the road is about 13 years. At the average rate of driving the average person would run out of miles before years (~7.5 years). The average consumer expects a vehicle to last about 150k miles.

A guy in our office got one. Sharp little car. It will actually seat 4 people too! He just charges it in his garage every night and it gets him where he wants to go.

A replacement IC engine and tranny is way less than a new battery pack.

So many replies not sure if mentioned here yet...

GM is ending Bolt production because 2nd gen battery tech... 3rd gen batteries supposed will cost 40% less and hint at another sub $30k Bolt replacement....

Thanks OP managed to get a Bolt EUV at MSRP with the install here in SoCal!

The troll comments on this thread sealed the deal 👍

That people are fighting this hard against the technology convinced me it was the smart thing to do

The dealer was a PITA (obviously), but the car is really nice! $9.5k off (tax rebates) with a free outlet install makes it a damn good deal...

Will there be a rebate for the replacement $16,000 (probably more in the future given inflation)?
Will that really be a refurbished/recycled $16,000 + battery thats not as good as the original?

Most will have to finance that $16,000 battery , imagine the interest rate on that!
