If I weren't already heavily invested in ryobi 40v lawn tools...

But seriously, there should be some regulation to make it so the 40v batteries are interchangeable with other brands like AA batteries.

I like seeing SP mowers with larger batteries since I can just push them anyway. Here's hoping that the SKIL line gets the EGO technologies with better pricing. As mentioned before, as someone who isn't actually reliant on one "premium" residential mower for my entire property, week to week, it bothers me to observe that EGO hasn't used their position to gold-plate the reputation of their batteries and the warranty thereof.

This is a solid mower at a great price considering the battery is included and it's self-propelled.

I have this. It's performance is great. Tall 6" or more grass it will struggle, but...what do you expect. Weekly service mows it does GREAT. Charger is very loud though.

I've had the non self propelled for over a year now, it has been decent enough on my .25 acre yard. It is super light to begin with, really don't see the need for self propelled but that is probably more dependent on the yard.

Thanks for all of your input into this. I'm curious regarding your thoughts on the battery performance a year after you purchased it. The one star reviews indicate people don't like it after a year as the battery longevity isn't good. What's been your experience on that?

Also, would one of you be kind enough to measure the max width and length of the main mower unit when the handle is folded for storage (and the height from the ground to the top of the mower engine area) as I am trying to determine if it will fit on my industrial garage shelves? Thanks in advance!

@MikeyJohn there should be measurements on SKILLS website. As far as battery performance, the battery retails for $150. You are getting the mower for $100 basically. Even if after a year you need a second battery, You are now at $400 (by the way, mine came with a voucher to get a 5 year limited warranty on the battery/charger and mower, and it say it covers battery issues). At $400 you are still just starting to touch the ego's price tag with one battery.

IMO if you have a small yard (1/3 of an acre or less) this will be plenty. I finish mowing my yard (I am on .38 acres) and have 50% battery left on a maitenance cut and 25% left it I let the grass grow a little longer.

Battery has held up great after one year, granted it has never taken a full charge to mow my lawn and that hasn't changed since I used it last year.

Have a honda HRT216 and this price finally made me jump on an electric mower (and some of the review videos of it cutting really overgrown gas)

Would be really happy if someone could post a secondary battery deal too since I will probably need one

How much is it at Lowes? I checked their website and I see "This item is no longer sold on Lowes.com"
