Any link to a NON-Amzon/Newegg/MSI/commercial site? I've looked a bunch. 470-yeah. Not 371.

It's a pretty basic QLC/Dramless drive. Personally think $5 more is better spent on an Intel 670p.

Every SSD post should say:

If it's TLC/QLC/etc. (PLC is coming in a few years...)
If it has DRAM
What the rated endurance is

It's 210 TB for the 1 TB drive. DRAM-less QLC.

I see the 670p 2TB on Newegg at 72.99, that's 2.00 cheaper than this deal.

Yeah I agree. The whole thing was mainly for graphics cards which even at MSRP were hundreds more than they should have been. Waiting months to save hundreds sure, but to save like 10 more dollars..
Just yesterday we had the ADATA Premium 2TB (Samsung 990 pro tier) for $100 which went for $200 on sale mid 2022. I guess for higher end drives there are still rooms for dropping.

Would this be good for a plex server? I'm guessing not.

It's a gen 3 drive and the speeds to below what Sony says to use. I would be surprised if it would even let you format it.

Highly recommend this drive if you want a great a bang for buck gen3 drive. DRAM and generous TBW rating. Worth the extra in my opinion.

You guys are crazy. Getting similar variations for around $30-35 per TB with tax as my limit. Got a 2TB Pony 2140 for $64 total yesterday.

210 TBW is really low compared to other drives I've seen listed here.
You also need to compare QLC to QLC drives. The inherent difference makes the comparison of QLC to TLC inappropriate.
You also need to be clear if you are comparing the SAME SIZES as the TBW tends to double with size.

As is frequently pointed out, what is your basic use of the drive. TBW does not matter nearly as much for a drive that is backup or mostly read only. Heavily used drives with lots of writes make a difference.

I agree. If you really want to get pet peeve'd, you should see the average title on the /r/BuildAPCSales subreddit lol. Monitors, GPUs, and RAM postings in particular. ಠ_ಠ

Quite literally *any* SSD, be it SATA (2.5" or m.2) or NVMe (m.2), are great boot drives. I repurposed my old 500GB MX500 into my PlexPC after "upgrading" my main PC's various m.2 and SATA3 drives.
