How good are these two tools and how good is this price? These are two tools I'm missing in my Ridgid set.

I love ridgid but the multi tool is a POS. Look at the reviews. Switch breaks. Repairs take months and it breaks agian in a few weeks. One guy bought another to complete a job when he found out the repair was going to take a long time and the new one he purchased also broke before he could finish the job. I have a bosch multi and I was considering getting the ridgid so I only bring one set of batteries to the jobsite since everything else is Ridgid but reading the reviews, that tool is a disaster. Buying new batteries for the Bosch instead.

Buy an ridgit to bosch adapter on ebay or amazon and use ridgid batteries in bosch tools

Yeah. But Bosch doesn't have a LSA, correct? So it's a good plan but use it only whrn the Ridgid tool sucks.

What i meant is if you like certail bosch or dewalt or makita tool you can buy an adapter to use ridgid lsa batteries in other tools. Usually 20 -30$ depents on supplier. Have a ridgid to ryobi, as i dont carry a ryobi charger with me,

Understood.

I wish SD had a wiki where they compared each tool for each brand. I have Ridgid batteries and would prefer their tools but from time to time I'll see something like "This ____ sucks from them, _______'s is much better." In those case, I'd rather get the better tool over the SLA.

But there's no guide. It all depends on who comments.

I was talking to one contractor and he did not know that there are adapters out there, his all tools were dewalt and he wanted 2 makita tools but did not want to deal with another set of batteries and charger. He ordered tools and adapters same day, to still use his batteries. 18v and 20v are all same 5 cell batteries, just different how brands advertise them. Fully charged ridgid and ryobi on volt meter are 20v

does using an adapter compromise the ability of tool to cut-off battery below certain V (instead of running it down too low)?

From personal use and how i understand it is built in to the battery to cut off power if it goes down too low (ridgid battery lowest light blinks on my ridgid to ryobi adapter.) Battery has a small circuit board inside to protect it if it gets too hot as well.
my nicad ryobi batteries would run all way down with a flashlight. all of the lithium ridgid i was never able to run them down.

edit: I just tried again with ridgid 4ah max in an adapter, and it went down to 14.16 before it cut off power. adapter was using only + and - of the battery, not the other side points in max battery.

I believe that's only a problem with DeWalt as they put their low voltage cut-off in the tool rather than in the battery so if you use one of their batteries in another brand's tool it could deeply discharge the battery and wreck it.
