If they don't know the lyrics, then they're not a real fan.

got a white one... hoping for a annoying low pitch hum as an added sound machine effect... $40 for both a fan and a sound machine, too slick of a deal!

I've never dealt with a hum, but for the first few months, at some angles mine would rattle. like the plastic housing is loose somewhere and vibrated to hell if i had it pointing straight ahead. i have this pointing upwards now and no more rattle. Haven't really checked all angles but its working so i'm leaving it like it is.

Vornado fans are great but the Costco models are subpar and only produced FOR Costco.

Purchased a "large" Vornado and the motor gave out before regular Vornados - the company replaced my Costco fan with one of their own models and it's night and day difference.

i encourage people to see what the CFM or how much air the fan circulates/pushes as there are larger Vornados that have a lower CFM then smaller models

I wish they only made one color. I can't decide which one to choose, white or black. Would someone please choose for me?
I don't know about this particular one, but we had a white vornado that turned ever-so-slightly beige over the ten years we owned it, probably due to the fact we kept it in the attic in the winter. Black just looks better to me

The hum is where it's at.
They should charge extra for that.
Oooh, they hum like angels! You're never lonely if you've got a Vornado PIVOT6!

I have this exact model from Costco and the same one from Vornado direct. Besides the remote that comes with the Vornado direct version, they are identical. Same warranty too. Biggest difference would be that the Costco one is covered by Costco's satisfaction guarantee, so if the fan breaks just outside of the warranty period you are covered (or whenever really). I certainly would not pay more to NOT get it from Costco...

My review - These fans are awesome, and they are "whole room circulators" which just means you point the fan at a wall or corner of the room and it pushes the air around all over the place. They are not meant to be aimed straight at you, but you can obviously do that if you want. I have had no problems with either of these fans, but a fan I had purchased from Target years ago stopped working after about 4 years. Vornado had me cut the cord, send a pic, and they sent a new (upgraded) one to me (they no longer carried the model I had). It was super easy. Love these fans.

Anybody know if this happens to be better than the Woozoo fan that Costco offers?

These are the best fans I have in my house. They are even better than the Rowentas.

+1. I have the same issue. It's not a terrible rattle, but enough that it would bother me. I have mine on the floor and I guess the tolerance for shifting isn't very high. If I step on the floor close to it, it'll start to make that rattle/vibration noise. Step away, and it's fine.

Usually if it starts to rattle or make that noise, I just have to push on it firmly without adjusting the angle and it usually fixes it.

But other than that, this thing moves a lot of air. During the non-summer months, I run it on the lowest speed when running on my treadmill. It blows directly on me, so I don't really see myself taking it up to the highest speed.

I picked up two of these from Target on clearance for $20 each. Both lasted about six months before developing a horrifying screech. One eventually had its motor sieze, while the other has about a cup of Greased Ligtning sprayed on its innards but still has a residual scraping noise that is barely allowing it to keep residence as a small garage fan

They were our first Vornado products and put a pretty bad taste in our mouth about the brand - Similar to Dyson.

White plastic turning beige over time is usually from UV damage, never understood this since UV rays are not supposed to go thru glass (reason why your transition glasses stay clear while driving on a sunny day). On a related note, I've always loved this brand but I think their quality has gone way down in recent years, had one of their newer small space heaters crap out on me recently. I have a couple of the bigger air circulators and they are great for running 24/7 on low to keep the basement from getting musty. Been running them for years in the warmer months without issue.

I would say if you need a smaller fan for personal use, get the woozoo. If you need a fan that can push more air/circulate the room air, get the Vornado.

While I don't have your two examples sitting in front of me, I don't agree with your claim at all. From what I've seen, they are identical. I think you got a single QA miss and extrapolated something that is not happening.

Vornado told me thru email and phone that they make separate models for places like Costco.

When my Costco model stopped working they were unable to even source one from Costco because they had sold out so they offered me a comparable (in size/CFM) model.

Motors in Vornados are what make them. Cheaper the model, weaker the motor, less life span, less CFM, weaker air flow.

The "large" model Costco was selling (comparable to the $100 version Vornado was selling) was SO much noisier, less airflow, yet had similar CFM ratings.

I love Costco and Vornado - recommend both but would not buy a Vornado from Costco would buy it on sale from Vornado and get their made in USA models with a 10 year warranty
