If they don't know the lyrics, then they're not a real fan.

got a white one... hoping for a annoying low pitch hum as an added sound machine effect... $40 for both a fan and a sound machine, too slick of a deal!

Does this move enough CFM/price for one of those home air filters?

Vornado told me thru email and phone that they make separate models for places like Costco.

When my Costco model stopped working they were unable to even source one from Costco because they had sold out so they offered me a comparable (in size/CFM) model.

Motors in Vornados are what make them. Cheaper the model, weaker the motor, less life span, less CFM, weaker air flow.

The "large" model Costco was selling (comparable to the $100 version Vornado was selling) was SO much noisier, less airflow, yet had similar CFM ratings.

I love Costco and Vornado - recommend both but would not buy a Vornado from Costco would buy it on sale from Vornado and get their made in USA models with a 10 year warranty
Most Costco models of electric and electronic items are their own line. It's not because they are lesser or lower quality, it's because they are a large enough retailer to command such a line and still move enough volume to make it worth it for the manufacturer. Best Buy does this too with a handful of TV models. It's so they never have to price-match on those items, even if some other retailer sells the exact same model. The model number will be one digit off.

That said, as a general statement, Costco will not accept a subpar product and they are too large and powerful for ANY manufacturer to want to piss off. If they find another manufacturer to provide a similar product, shoppers will not go somewhere else to find this Vornado fan. They will buy the other brand from Costco. In the thousands. Vornado is quite simply not cheaping out on a fan under these circumstances, it just isn't in their best interest.

The specs are what they are and will be accurate. Costco slaps their satisfaction guarantee on it and one of the most prolific return policies in existence. I'm not saying you're lying, but it's entirely possible that you're being hoodwinked by a manufacturer that would prefer you buy their item retail from them at a higher markup than a Costco model that they make less money on.

Thanks OP for sharing.

Does anyone know if this costs same in-store or they have it at a lower price like how it usually is with most items at Costco? If cost is same in-store then I might just place an online order. Thank you

I've never had a vornado fan fail, and I've only ever bought them used because I'm a cheapskate. They just keep working. I've had lots of other fan brands fail.

I believe someone in comments mentioned it in store for 29.99. so save 10 more bucks if that is worth the drive to you.

Sorry, but now I know you are wrong. What you are describing is the Vornado DC fan. It is a completely different product than what Costco is selling. Vornado sells this exact model Costco has on their own website but it comes with a remote, that is the only difference between the models. The motors are exactly the same, as are all other parts sans the remote and sensor for the remote. The Vornado DC fan is a completely separate product. They are the only ones that come with the 10 year warranty. Feel free to look them up now that you understand the difference. They use a brushless DC motor. Anything not labeled DC is their normal motor and those all have a 5 year warranty, which is still great.

But buying from Costco makes the warranty point moot.

Bought one on sale long ago.
I use it when I'm on my treadmill.
I wish it had a remote.

Got this in white. It's really powerful even in lowest speed. But the hum from vibration of the metal foot is really annoying. When put on the floor it's actually powerful enough to vibrate the floor ever so slightly. I also have a regular plastic Vornado which doesn't vibrate at all. May have to return this one.

They come with little rubber feet out of the box. Maybe you lost yours or forgot to put them on. They do come off too easily in my opinion, then get lost due to that.

I'd think that if you put this on carpet or a rug or a folded up towel it would reduce the hum?

I bet you got a replacement that is one of the DC models. They look similar, but are different models.

I took my vornado DC apart after getting it to peek inside, and sort of committed to buying vornado DC in the future. They are noticeably better.

The low hum is real. I have one. Two reasons that I experienced. The sound goes away after use, perhaps something to do with being new. It vibrates easily which creates feedback. Other fans, cheaper fans, don't have this problem. When I placed the fan on "perfectly" level tables the noise would go away. Although that could have been intermittent after hours of use from first power on.

Wife and I use this fan nightly for sleep for the last 12+ months. It moves a metric f-ton of air. I just bought another to use in my office. hopefully it doesn't cause me to fall asleep!
