From a quick look, this has way more rpms than a typical drill.

Two speed selector:
Low: 2,800 rpm
High Speed: Up to 7,800 rpm

Where as your typical brushless Ryobi drill is up to / around 2100rpms…

So this would be far superior for sanding work with the higher rpms.
Curious if a hammer drill handle will serve the same purpose with the drill attachment.
How is this better than a backer plate drill attachment?

I am assuming something like this will work - IPELY 6 Pcs 6 Inch Wool Polishing Buffing Pad Polishing Buffing Wheel for Drill Buffer Attachment with M14 Drill Adapter

Is this really that much better than using my impact drill with polishing/sanding attachments?

Might seems like an alternative … but the way our body is built, it's lot more steady when we bend our wrist … case in point, have you tried writing without bending you wrist?. That is to say, the original shape of a rotary polisher is significantly more ergonomic.

Some drills have the same side handle.

Seems like it's the rpm is the main difference
