This is a great deal. I purchased it three years ago and haven't played it, but I paid $15 at the sale. As an accumulator of games, I failed.

To each their own. One of my favorite Action RPGs. I love it's smaller scale. World you travel thru is much more condensed than say an Elder Scrolls, and can be complete in about 40 hours.

I liked this game. Seemed pretty generic at first, but it stuck with me for some reason. For $5 it's a great deal. Dozens of hours of decent gameplay.

Played it on xbox, couldn't stick with it. Got the Dark Arisen PC version and beat it...eh, Dragon's DogSh*t. I found it repetitive and boring.

How much of the "suggestive themes" and nudity is there? Easy to avoid (like don't go in the brothel)? Wondering if I can play in front of kids

No fast travel and no horse is a deal breaker for me. I literally don't have time for that sh*t. Smilie

It's been a while since I played it, but I don't remember any nudity per say (maybe some harpy monsters), though you do have the scantily clad females options when outfitting characters. There is some romance stuff with suggestive sex in a scene or two. And lots of blood and gore in battles and cut scenes. So I would say not in front of kids.

They do have a sort of fast travel option. Forgive my terminology, again it's been a while- there are some sort of placement stones you can put down, and then use another calling stone to zap there when wanted. But you have to find/buy calling stones so you don't run out.

Is this basically a GOTY version of the regular Dragon's Dogma? I have regular Dragon's Dogma on Ps3 and was going to play it soon - should I buy this and play it instead?

Yes, it is the main game + expansion Dark Arisen, which is basically an Island Dungeon crawler (Bitterblack Isle) with some new monsters, weapons and a bit of extended story lore with new ending. You do need a fairly maxed out character to survive.
Adds about another 10-15 hours of play. I enjoyed the expansion, but one can do without.

Haha yeah I've had it on my wish list for ages and lowest I recall was $10. And I remember thinking that was too much for a game I'll never play.

$5 on the other hand…….

LOL. People downvoting opinions they don't like.

I agree with you, the game wasn't engaging, inventory management between the multiple players was a major chore, waypoint system was useless as it normally pointed at major impassable features like the ocean or a mountains, I rarely had any idea what landmarks were on the map (weapon dealer, armor, save point, etc). Not saying the game was bad, but just had flaws that I couldn't look past.

Runs great on Steam Deck.

Yes, you really want to go for Dark Arisen over vanilla DD, if for no other reason than that fast-travel in the original Dragon's Dogma is basically nonexistent. You can only fast-travel by using an item that is either rare or prohibitively expensive (I can't remember which). Dark Arisen fortunately makes them common.

Purchased it and played it for about 2 hours. So far worth the money. Never played it before but super suprised how "console" it feels on the switch. Very good would recommend
