They're used for fishing wire through walls. They aren't designed for high torque applications. What you need is a spade or forstner bit.

I see the $6.63 price. Thank you!

But I also see a save 20% code (TELE20AB) AND also see a save $5 code (K2N4N2N4N56Q). But neither works for me when I redeem and check out ("code cannot be applied to purchase" error). Have read fine print and all that for each code and can't figure out why not working for me, but sharing just in case someone else has better luck!

I'm not sure what these are used for but I bought one to drill holes in stumps so I could burn them more easily and it broke on my second stump.

I assume the hole in flute design is only meant to help with fishing while doing work during new construction, as a quick assist for hooking the pull line through each stud as you go without having to either jam it through or grab something else (or drilling it all first then doing the line after)? I can't think of a way where it would be better than just using a regular rod except for that.

I agree. Click the See Deal link and watch the video starting at 0:21 to see a visual of how this could be used.

This is just for wood (wall studs or floor joists). Drilling through stone walls is a royal pain in the tuckus because the rocks themselves are .... Well .. hard (groan). Worse than concrete due to the lack of uniformity and the size of rocks, so even a rotohammer and masonry bit is questionable.

If you're lucky, you can find a place where you can get 3 screws in a grout line, otherwise 2 screws in a grout line would probably be sufficient. Then use a masonry bit in a hammer drill and it'll be easy-peasy.

It was this price for about an entire year, until this past April when it shot up to $16. Now it's back down to its regular price. Not slick. If you need it though, I guess it's better than the $16 it was listed at for a month or two. 🤷

Can this be used to start drywall holes for screws into studs? I'm confused why it's 3/8 inch. Is that a standard size
