That is actually quite the opposite, at least for now. The Democratic Progressive Party is in the government now and they DO NOT like Taiwanese who are living in mainland China. There are also tons of discriminations online towards their own people who live and work in mainland China. The Democratic Progressive Party even have tried to prevent them from going back to Taiwan to vote during last election since they assume them as "Pro-China" which is really stereotypical and jeopardizing democracy in Taiwan.

In terms of people from PRC living in ROC, they can live in ROC, but ROC will never give them "citizenship", it's more like a green card and they can never vote. As far as I know, a citizen of PRC living in Taiwan won't affect anything he/she has as a PRC citizen.
Re-read what I wrote. You are basically saying the same thing as I did. The DPP is preventing mainlanders from living in Taiwan where the CCP does not prevent Taiwanese from living on the mainland.
Quote from jackky :
so in short, Taiwan is not part of PRC, period
Nowhere in ANY of the posts did I claim Taiwan is part of the PRC, so congratulations on building a strawman and tearing it down. What the ROC DOES claim is that it CONSTITUTIONALLY represent ALL Chinese (including those living on the mainland) and that its territory encompasses all of China and actually Mongolia as well. In other words, it asserts that Taiwan is part of China, period. But thanks for playing.

Be fore warned my cousin's fiance who is Arab/Muslim went to Beijing and was detained and not allowed to enter the country. They even interrogated him and threatened him with prison. He is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He is a US citizen so they had to release him. But keep this in mind if you're name is Abdul, Ahmad, or something Arabic you will not be able to enter.
Quite a story, same thing could happen in the US as well, plus, being nice is really not something that custom officers care about. You never know what makes custom officers decide doing that.

One thing you need to know, there are tons of muslim people entering China everyday, but many of them entering China from customs in Xinjiang (a muslim autonomous region) or from big cities like Shanghai, Beijing for business trips.

Most of you should go back to arguing whether the toilet paper deal you saw a week ago was $5 cheaper than the one this week. That seems more like your area of direct expertise about anything.

Unless you are extremely unimportant and not related to anyone of any particular significance in business, military or otherwise, I would steer well clear of China for personal or business travel. Expect unwarranted detentions and arrests of Americans to sky rocket in the coming years and decades. https://travel.state.gov/content/...isory.html

I traveled via Saudi airlines in 2018, very good NEW planes and friendly staff, the only downside was the lay over in Jeddah, that airport looked like a public toilet.

A public toilet where? NYC or Singapore? BIG difference! LOL
So glad I visited while my friend was working in Beijing in 2010 and stayed at her place. She put me on a free Great Wall tour, Summer Palace was so sweet, Beijing Hooters, Terra Cotta Warriors, Giant Buddha..I saw and ate a lot. in 2 weeks. I have no urge to go back though, so crowded and chaotic. If I want that, I much prefer Seoul, Tokyo and ANYWHERE else human rights are upheld.. I felt safe back then, but China's leaders are not our friends. SO many better and safer places to visit...

Save yourself and don't ever fly Saudi airlines unless it's the last resort. Saudis r not known to be very hospitable people(bcz they have money)! They don't have to be nice to people. most of the time, you will loose your luggage and they will treat you like shit. Flew once but then flew again just to give another chance since the ticket was almost 500 dollar cheaper than Qatar airlines. One of the worst mistake I have made and yes I rank it higher than my divorce. Save yourself and get any other airline
