That's how Supply Chain Tim rolls. FYI, years of support from Steve Jobs-directed 2015 Macbook Pros dropped by 1.4 years with Cook's 2016s. And that has accelerated dramatically since. Ending support earlier and making everything non-serviceable / non-repairable speeds up the replacement cycle, accelerates obsolescence, and makes Apple billions more dollars annually. Not to mention generating more mountains of e-waste than under Jobs.

I mean, I'll probably buy one of these because I'm in the market, but with the way storage prices have come down, this is ridiculous. It's like they do this so this so the other models don't look so puny.

And increases sales of Applecare. Because these things cannot be repaired and get thrown into a pile of e-waste when they break. Like when the main board shorts out the flash storage, as it is prone to do. The opposite of modular 2016 and earlier iterations. Even many main boards could be repaired by third parties. Not anymore.

That's the biggest slap in the face IMHO. It was quasi-forgivable in 2020 especially with supply chain shortages, but for $1300? Give be a break. Even the base model Dell XPS laptops (which would be comparable to these Macs) come with 16/512 and those start at $900 for the 13.
