I used so many Moto devices over the years and if there is one word I can describe them, it's consistency. They're nothing special but they work and get the job done for my daily tasks. I never once had any issues with any of them. I have a Moto Z Play and E4 Plus from 2017 that still works fine to this day.

You should try factory resetting your phone. A lot of people that have problems with phones are quick to blame the device rather than themselves. Not saying that's you, but it would probably help to troubleshoot why the device is giving you problems rather than just saying "this device sucks because blah doesn't work" like so many other people.

Edit: Smooth move on that sarcasm for the edit champ. Guess I shouldn't be surprised that's the type of response you come out with especially with all your "problems" you can't solve. Good luck on your next device.

Why does Moto still insist on making curved edges for their flagships?

Good news and bad news. I bought the phone and it arrives. It looks and feels great. I unlocked it with Dr Unlock, the same one thats been mentioned on fleabae, and that worked great, in under 10 minutes it was totally unlocked and I had it working perfectly with TMobile.

The bad news:
The wireless charging wouldnt work. I scoured the internet trying to find an explanation with no luck. After contacting Motorola, they said I should return it.spoke with boost and they said I can only have a refund, not an exchange. I sent it in for a refund.

I feel disappointed

That is disappointing but what is to prevent you from buying another one? After the first one gets refunded. Also how much did you pay to unlock it?

So I bought the half price $25 SIM card from the website. Did I waste my money as I don't get to get the phone at discount?

Do I need to repurchase a $40 SIM card to get the phone discount?

I can get another one, but I have to wait to get a refund and considering boosts poor customer service history I don't want to buy it again until I've gotten the refund. I also had to pay return shipping which was unfair but whatever. I paid $7 USD to unlock it. It's the only Dr Unlock on fleabae

The hardware supports esim. It's boost mobile's firmware that's blocking it.
Anyone know if the unlocked versions firmware can be loaded on this? Is there any other downside to this boost firmware version?

Flashing a different firmware won't change much since the carrier is set in the kernel or secure element. You can flash a different firmware but the carrier apps will be back & it will break OTA updates

So this phone will always rely on Boost for the updates? Compared to a factory unlocked phone that will get updates direct from Motorola?

All variants get updated from Motorola. Infact, moto has streamlined the firmware where all variants get the same firmware but apps are disabled as per the carrier (you can find all Verizon apps disabled on TmObile variant and vice Versa etc)

Does it get 5G on at&t? Was going to get the Edge+ 2022 but apparently it only gets LTE on at&t

Bought edge plus 22 and 23 from boost and did some comparisons. Both unlocked by dr.Unlock codes. Using on T-Mobile.

22 feels like a mid-range phone with a flagship processor, but 23 feels like a flagship through and through.

22 has less than ideal haptic motor, which makes everything feel cheap, especially plastic frames reinforce that. 23 feels super slick and dense. Haptic motor feels like OnePlus 11 or pixel 7. Punchy with none of that rattle-y feeling. Camera is Very Meh on the 22, and while it is definitely better on the 23, but nothing to write home about.

Performance-wise, 23 is of course, miles ahead. But I guess I gotta put in perspective who is using the phone and what their main use-case is. They're both faster than MOST people need their phones to be, and gotta remember benchmarks aren't everything. Both feel lightning fast for most normal tasks and games. Fun fact, when pushed to the limits with 3dmark stress testing, 23 got to 45c while 22 throttled at 41c. Suffice to say, '23 can get super toasty.

Battery life is obviously better on the 23, but 22 isn't a slouch. 5 hours of light browsing and games on my 22, I have 45% battery remaining.

I think 190 for the '22 edge plus is a better value than '23 edge plus at $440. Well, $355 if you port-in. (200 + 35 + 50 +tax).
