Can someone tell me the point of using this? It claims to disinfect and deodorize. Doesn't the bowl get germy and malodorous again the next time someone does #2 -- which is often just a few hours later? And doesn't the Ocean Fresh Scent disappear once you flush the toilet after brushing? So why use this?

For occasional cleaning, I just use Comet or Ajax powder with bleach. You can even buy them with a lemony scent. Just flush so that the bowl is wet. Then sprinkle the powder around the bowl (it sticks because the bowl is wet). Wait a few minutes for the bleach to whiten and disinfect, and then scrub and I'm done. To clean under the rim, I simply dip the brush into the water until it's wet and sprinkle detergent on the brush. Then I scrub under the rim. That $1.25 canister (at Dollar Tree) will last me 1-2 years.

So why are these toilet cleaners so popular? What am I missing?
