Good luck finding a Hyundai dealership that isn't marking up 7.5k to negate the credit. Tried to buy one last year and they marked up anywhere from 2k minimum to 8k with add-ons.

Hyundai actually found the issue, it was an app that sent a bunch of information/stayed connected when the car is off. Teslas have a worse issue which is phantom drain, since the car stays connected for connectivity/app usage it drains the main drive battery. Ends up making the car horribly inefficient. People come back to their cars with way less drivable range.

You cannot buyout Tesla leases, not that you would want to after you experience the shoddy workmanship of those things.

To get your equity that you have paid into the lease. I've had my lease for 20 of 36 months. If I were to buy it out today and sell the vehicle, I could get pretty much all my money back that I paid into the lease. Plus I got to drive around a new car for almost two years with minimal cost out of my own pocket. If you just turn the vehicle into the dealer at the end of your term, then the dealer is the one who benefits.
It is not always advantageous to buy out the lease. As always, it depends on the specific numbers.

=$16,960.
Comes out to $471 a month just to turn it in and get slammed with more fees - a certified pre-owned would be the same yet you have unlimited mileage and when the loan (not lease) is up you could sell it for ~$7,000. For those wondering about leasing vs owning.

As an owner of an Ioniq 5 Limited, I will say I love the car, but Hyundai's customer service sucks.

Also I'd go for at least and SEL, the SE is so bare bones you are going to regret missing so many features.

Was looking for a CT5-V Blackwing last week. Dealer still started with 20k on top of MSRP.
I left, knowing they had two sitting on the lot.
They called me next day and offered MSRP Big Grin
It's so dumb.
Bought a Porsche 718 GT4 RS, dealer offered/insisted I sell it back to them on consignment. I declined. I went to sell the car to a friend, when transferring the warranty I got called by my salesman who advised they (Porsche) would not longer be doing business with me if I completed the sale. I kept the car, however, niche cars like these are still insanely desirable and selling for ridiculous markups. I've watched 718 gt4rs sell for 100-150k over MSRP in the last month.

FYI you can lease an i4 35 for less money.
I'd rather have the BMW, thank you.

That is, until you step foot into the stealership.
My friend bought Hyundai ioniq 5 last year at msrp. I have talked to multiple dealers about this.

When I say I have seen multiple cars in the lot that means I was at 3+ dealers for test drive. So yes , they may mark up online price but when you talk to them they are ready to decrease

Toyota dealer was ready to sell bz4x at 5k below msrp. Too bad I didnt like the car. I liked him begging me to negotiate. Good times.

Yes... All those independent reviews are totally wrong about the quality of hkmc.

You do realize that nearly every car has parts from 3 top Tier1s...

Porsche is always in a different league.
Even for a base 911 they are asking $7500 over MSRP, but at least you get the first service and some ceramic coating.

This isn't about leasing....

The lease is a bypass to get the credit. This deal is to lease to get the credit and then buyout at under what it would normally cost to buy the car.

Also recommend checking those i4 reviews....

In this price range the VW is actually the best choice...

Can someone comment on ev6 gt line v ioniq 5 limited v model y long range?

Pretty similar price range and features. I care for reliability more than speed or features

Leases are negotiated just like buying. If the terms are unfavorable, then don't sign the lease.

Didn't hyundai increase the residual value for Ioniq 5 so that lease end buyout doesn't make financial sense anymore?
Residual value is negotiated with the dealer.

Point is, it's not a good idea to buy one of these EVs since they will depreciate like crazy.
You think you get a discount, but the discount will also be there for future buyers of newer, better EVs.

Anyways. The i4 gets great reviews. Like a Model 3 that's actually nice inside and handles well.

The VW just looks silly.

All of the Hyundai dealers around me are doing markups. Congrats to anyone who has the tenacity to wade through these dealers and salespeople.
