Good luck finding a Hyundai dealership that isn't marking up 7.5k to negate the credit. Tried to buy one last year and they marked up anywhere from 2k minimum to 8k with add-ons.

Hyundai actually found the issue, it was an app that sent a bunch of information/stayed connected when the car is off. Teslas have a worse issue which is phantom drain, since the car stays connected for connectivity/app usage it drains the main drive battery. Ends up making the car horribly inefficient. People come back to their cars with way less drivable range.

You cannot buyout Tesla leases, not that you would want to after you experience the shoddy workmanship of those things.

No, you pay the residual + $5000 down + fees/taxes + aggregate of the payments.
So the total of the payments would be $11,952. So you'd be looking at $41,767 at least.
Yes The residual value is calculated after the 36 month term. So the lease end value plus the down payment, plus the 36 months of payments as well as the Taxes and DMV fees.

There is an asset with a forecasted price and an actual value. Saying you can not negotiate a purchase price based on that spread (and interest of both parties) is silly... of course you can, and it occurs a large percentage of the time.
Goal post move.

That would be wrong. The residual value is figured after the 36 month term.
The residual is known up front, its baked into the lease, if you want out early you pay the residual + total of lease payments. This is how all leases ive ever done have worked.

Huh? You think that your single experience reflects on the 100s of thousand of EVs sold?

EVs are very much in their beta iteration and don't make sense for most people (no level 2 charger at home, live in extreme weather a few months a year, or take too many road trips).
so how many experiences have you had??? I'm guessing zero based on your bold statement that they are not ready. my one experience that spanned several years (with an early iteration no less) is better than your likely ZERO experience.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of the "new" Elon Musk, but F these slimy dealers. F each one of them. I'd rather give my money to Tesla than deal with these bottom dwellers. Car manufacturers need to end this bs system, otherwise they will just keep shooting themselves in the foot on their way to becoming obsolete.
"New" Elon? Yeah! Screw anyone trying to uncover the underhanded, anti-free speech moves of pre-Elon Twitter! That stinks! Bring back slimmy old fascist Twitter!

That was last year. Now they have plenty on the lot and are giving large discounts
They are doing the same here but when you click on the "sticker" for the car, the MSRP on it is 6 to 7k less than the MSRP on the main screen before the discount. I have no clue on how the car market is other places, but I know my local toyota dealer only has around 12 new vehicles on their lot. You still have to get on a waiting list to get most models and they laugh if try and negotiate the price. As one salesman said, if you don't buy it at this price the next person that walks in will, and he is probably correct.

Well not a tesla fan and wanted to explore EV have been looking for Bolt EUV for 3-4 months all dealers asking for 5k mark up (now it's discounted) , tried EV6 and Ioniq the barrier to entry for any other car is Dealers marking up and all manufacturers are losing reputation. Went with tesla easy experience is what I get.
Agree. I hate buying cars other than Tesla. I hate the fact that I negotiated the whole day and found out my neighbor got it cheaper.

Did all Hyundai sales reps colluded to upvote this terrible deal to make it front page worthy?

I bought my Ioniq5 6weeks ago in TN, and got $4000 off MSRP. There were a ton of them on the lot and they weren't moving. I drive past Hyundai dealerships weekly and it looks like they have even more of them on the lot. If I had to guess A.the supply chain issues are finally coming back to normal, at least with Hyundai EVs. B., I think most people that really wanted Ioniq5 (it's quirky styling isnt for everyone) have already got one, and with the $7500 incentive gone, they are just sitting on the lot.

Now, I love the car, and have no issues with Hyundai (previous car was a Veloster), but paying MSRP or higher is a complete rip-off at this point
which dealer did you get it from>?

No, residual value is never a negotiable item on a lease. It it set by the leasing bank. Shocking that someone with alleged "pro" tag here is posting such nonsense.
I'm not sure how I got mine. I have bad takes all the time.

I do own a 2021 Tesla and agree that the overall build quality of a Tesla is not great with noticiable gaps in the trim etc. + some of the basics such as the rain detecting windshield wipers simply do not work well because Tesla decided to use camera instead of sensors everyone else is using. JD Power as well as Consumer Reports have also rated Tesla poorly for reliability https://www.jdpower.com/business/...y-studyvds

If you want a car that can fart and put on a light show, your only option is a Tesla. However from a usability standpoint and having driving the Ioniq 5 recently, the Ioniq is definitive the better car.
The Chevy ratings makes the case for a Bolt pretty well.

This doesn't normally happen with a Tesla unless you are using sentry mode. That will drain about a mile of range for each hour it is on.

True Facts are never 'moot'. You are playing a shyster game of changing the meaning of words in a legal contract.
I bet you like the '4 square' game dealers play as well?
Yet I am in one who is actually leasing a Hyundai and currently have $4500+ in equity (as of last month. Didn't check this month) You see their rules and abide by them. I see their rules, and I look at everybody else's rules, then I use them all to my advantage so I can get the best deal possible. If you look at my original comment, I suggested NOT going with HMF. But go ahead. Your way is more expensive. I'm not buying an Ioniq anyway, so could care less about it. It's a good deal if done right and you actually want one (nothing wrong with an Ioniq), but not currently interested in one.
