Good luck finding a Hyundai dealership that isn't marking up 7.5k to negate the credit. Tried to buy one last year and they marked up anywhere from 2k minimum to 8k with add-ons.

Hyundai actually found the issue, it was an app that sent a bunch of information/stayed connected when the car is off. Teslas have a worse issue which is phantom drain, since the car stays connected for connectivity/app usage it drains the main drive battery. Ends up making the car horribly inefficient. People come back to their cars with way less drivable range.

You cannot buyout Tesla leases, not that you would want to after you experience the shoddy workmanship of those things.

How much is your monthly with $0 down?
Initially, for my Limited, it was $0 down, $0 DAS, 48 months, 10K miles per year at $845/mo.

The lease buyout was just over $52K, no tax.

Or buy some other ev and keep the $7500 tax credit in your pocket? If you have to give 5008 and the rest are chomped by tax, title etc 🤯 I guess it's everyone's choice. But no from me.

I have leased cars for a long time. I have never seen so much talk about buying out the lease. Explain to me why the main goal is to buy it out? That sounds like those who have never leased. Not to meantion without very good credit your rates will be higher. The idea here due to the 7500 is to lease it ONLY and return it. The idea is that you are paying hopefully the exact depreciation of the car or less. The benefit here for some is lease not buy. I dont like CAP cost leases myself. I typically only like sign and drive.
I tend to agree but here are a few scenarios off the top of my head:
  • Vehicle no longer qualifies for $7500 as part of a purchase but the captive is still offering $7500 on a lease (probably a short lived situation).
  • You want to flip the vehicle but don't qualify for the full $7500 due to income (otherwise you would just buy it and flip it).

Hopefully this comment isn't deterring people. If you look around the different forums/reddit, you will see that many are reporting getting these for 3-4k below MSRP. We have car salesmen in this thread advertising 1k below retail and I can tell you that they aren't doing it out of the kindness of their heart...The vehicle market has changed drastically from just a month ago. They are called bubbles for a reason.
Is this for Hyundai and Kia? I will say there is some bitterness from all the dealerships I called through the whole California and they gave arrogant confidence that their 4k markup is the best deal ever. The lowest I gotten was 2k, and that was with me selling my car to them with a lower value than what I can get from CarMax. I don't know if it is different now, but my experience seemed aligned with alot of other peoples experiences at the start of this year. I did look again 3 months back and it felt like the same deal so I just gave up.

Would be so down for one if not for having to deal with Hyundai dealers

I saw one of these, and I'm not a fan of the back side. I'm commenting on cars way out of my budget but oh well. I think they could have done better.

In Florida you can only do a lease buyout with the dealer and they decide the terms of it.
Mine was completed in California, so it does vary from state to state.

Hyundai should be investigated for "bait and switch" tactics.

Local SHITCAGO area dealerships would not honor this nor any other deals on their website.

EV is a fraud. Wait until rolling blackouts. Dealers marking them up so high it takes away the credit. What a scam,
Rolling blackouts at night? When everyone is sleeping? Something tells me that you haven't put much thought behind your views.

Then I don't understand why people still buying Hyundai over tesla??? It's a Hyundai meh.
They aren't, Tesla sales have been higher than all other EVs combined, this is a vocal minority

You have to factor in the entire experience including a premium car with features + true cost to own in 5 yrs + oil as a depleting resource.

Yes - in your case and many others, it may not be a deal but I am thinking about EVs just because it is way cheaper than the plug ins
