It's true. Faucet gets turned off once freezing starts and it's a pain to turn it back on , use this and drain and turn it back off.

Although this year I did it once on a warm week.

Simple, you could run a garden hose from your hot/cold indoor water faucet with an adapter like this

Then drain the PW or put it in basement/garage out of the elements.
But honestly yeah you're better off going to the carwash its just easier.
