It is good, just do be aware eufy has been put on a sorta quiet boycott for their lying of mishandled user videos, essentially anyone could tap into the cameras because of lack of end to end encryption, they did "fix" this after denying it for a while but ppl have lost all trust in the cameras i think anker overall is still a good brand, i have their robo vaccume doorbell, chargers cables, and even an indoor cam i own guns so im not scared if ppl try to break in my house

I have a bunch of the floodlight and floodlight pro, was excited about the AI face detection when Homebase 3 launched, it was promised to support floodlights I think originally for end of 2022, of course it kept slipping to mid June and mid August this year!
Of course they also redefined what compatible means, check this out yourself!

They split out storage and the bionic mind AI stuff, this is just shady! I would refund my homebase if not already past the refund period!
Emailed support multiple times and they kept saying basically nothing.
Camera quality is ok and no issues, but definitely stay away because they do not advertise accurately.

*sigh*
I really really want to defend eufy. But their products are frequently in beta stages.

I purchased this item because I wanted something wireless.

Don't get me wrong, it works. But for my camera - when I view it live, the sound cuts off after 3 seconds, which is weird.
Detection triggers properly, but notifications are hit or miss. When you attempt to load up the video, it attempts to download the video from the camera (even though I have HomeBase3 (HB3) with a HDD!) and then it fails. You refresh and it (usually) loads the video.

I highly recommend caution with this device. Nothing mission critical. I am still testing it, but the thing I DO like the most is that you can schedule items and that HB3 does enhance many of my other eufy items that I purchased years ago....... Solar is also great, although the app states it updates stats on how much solar power was charged only once a day, which is weird.

tl;dr - keep expectations low. I have never liked wireless surveillance cameras b/c of poor detection and/or loss of connection - eufy does it slightly better, but there are minor items which prevents me from 100% recommending. No mission critical items, highly recommended for "nice to surveil" areas, but no big deal if things are amiss.

Will this work with homebase 2
I see it has been added in the Eufy app as "new" so it should work. I ordered one, we will see.

How is the waterproofing around the lens? I have a bunch of 2s where condensation builds up inside the lens rendering the camera useless until it dries up.

I do not understand why more manufacturers do not sell outdoor cameras like this where the solar panel is integrated with the camera rather than having a standalone panel that has to be separately affixed to the house. I really like this concept but want to see alternatives to Eufy.

Same issue. I got their wired doorbells, flood lights, and some cameras inside the house. None of them are hooked up to Homebase 3 at this point.

They were all promised 100% competitively by April this year.

There's a lot here heh. Eufy admitted to the mistake and have fixed it. In fact it takes a bit longer to view footage now because it "decrypts" before showing footage.

I agree on Anker being a good brand. You may pay more for the name but nowadays but they make quality

It's heavy and one more thing to possibly break and costs more to make and facilitate parts for.

Yep.. make sure you put chains in the 12 ga shells. Buck shots don't work. Maximum damage for targets up close.

Because if the camera is in a location that doesn't get sun, you can still have the solar panel in a location that does.

Is this good? I need one for our side yard area that does not have an easy way to connect power wires.. and don't want to pay monthly subscription fees. Looks like this will handle both my requests.. and being in northern CA we get ample sunlight to charge this on most days.

Only question is will it work with my older homebase2 that came with the wireless doorbell?
Got it Monday and returning it tomorrow. It don't detect people sometimes if it's under 10-15 sec. When it does it starts to record real late. It uses PIR which is horrible. But the video quality is outstanding. I really want to keep it but what the point if it don't capture right when they come into view. Yes I have it on the highest sensitivity setting

it doesn't pick up things or a branch moving in the wind will alert like crazy. i liked it at first but now it's junk. humidity got into the camera. I'm going to run a wired 24/7 camera system with a NAS next. I know nothing about those things but none of these things are as good as some custom ones i've seen lately.
