Of course they also redefined what compatible means, check this out yourself!

They split out storage and the bionic mind AI stuff, this is just shady! I would refund my homebase if not already past the refund period!
Emailed support multiple times and they kept saying basically nothing.
Camera quality is ok and no issues, but definitely stay away because they do not advertise accurately.

Eufy doorbell and indoor camera only have both performed flawlessly.
You can block their IP from egressing to the inet if your router is capable.

Or do I have to go full wired to a home network.....and if that's the case any recommendations?
Also if anybody just has a website that puts all this information tabulated, that'd be huge.

What makes you think you will be armed and ready if someone breaks in?
Do you have a really loud alarm system or some version of the motion chime at the asian delis when your patio or front door opens?
Unfortunately my wife is not a dog person. And anyway my English bulldog who passed away was a very sound sleeper. She wouldn't notice anyone breaking in.
What system do you use that gives you reliable alerts? Do you get woken up by a lot of false alarms?
was blown out of proportion because if you carefully read the articles on the matter, there was no way to hack into the system without knowing the user's credentials in the first place. You also had to have a web feature enabled for the existing encryption to "break" and no one, not even those who tried (the verge, etc.) were able to replicate the issue unless/until they knew the user/pass of whatever account they were trying to mess with. In essence, this was a witchhunt.
Here's a link to promised compatibility [eufy.com], grain of salt and all.
It's useless.

If there is a brand that is fully encrypted, has all of these features and has no monthly fees, I'd love to know about them. The closest brand is Reolink and their battery cams must either store data to the microSD or you sub their cloud. Wyze is great but again, heavily relies on subs to gain all the good features.
I'd never go full-wired, but if you do, just make sure you get things like facial recognition, GOOD motion detection, etc.

Also if you do want homebase, then homebase 3 is the only supported model with this camera. They do not support homebase 2 with this camera, unfortunately.

Unfortunately, this is true. Don't buy for promised features, that's all I will say on the matter and this is true from any brand I'd say.

Perhaps, I mean, maybe the newer ones are great but I had many issues with my Reolink Cameras (Argus 2 and Argus PT) so much so that I don't use them outdoors anymore. I have a mesh system so, full home coverage with 99.9% of my stuff, yet the Reolink kept getting disconnected. They also missed a lot of footage, I just couldn't trust them. I use the Argus PT as a backup since it pants/tilts but I lost faith in the brand. May work better for those with smaller homes or homes that aren't built with cement/brick.
Compatibility with the Homebase 3 means that it can actually store data to HDD or SSD that you install to the Homebase.
To each his own but yes, know what you're buying and don't believe the various witchhunts out there. Yes, they lied about something but which company hasn't in history to protect their butts when staring down the barrel of media persecution? Just saying, was a non-issue in the first place. No need to to jump in every article to dump on them.
They are now afaik and as I mentioned, the issue isn't just that it wasn't end-to-end encrypted. The issue was that they had a feature that allowed family/friends or yourself as a user to share your feed over the web. This HAD TO BE ENABLED and this was not encrypted. Someone at Anker/Eufy either misspoke or lied and said it was. They explained this several times but people who read the article just see the "lied about end to end encryption" and vomit that up everywhere. Linus also did not help (super popular tech vlogger in case you don't know). Otherwise, the only other snafu was that if you enabled thumbnails in android/iOS then the thumbnails were not encrypted, this is normal and goes for any camera but Eufy touted themselves as free encrypted, etc. so people took this as being "not as advertised".

They were all promised 100% competitively by April this year.
