eufy over promise and under deliver, bought the homebase 3 and they still don't support my floodlights, promised dates keep getting broken

It is good, just do be aware eufy has been put on a sorta quiet boycott for their lying of mishandled user videos, essentially anyone could tap into the cameras because of lack of end to end encryption, they did "fix" this after denying it for a while but ppl have lost all trust in the cameras i think anker overall is still a good brand, i have their robo vaccume doorbell, chargers cables, and even an indoor cam i own guns so im not scared if ppl try to break in my house

I have a bunch of the floodlight and floodlight pro, was excited about the AI face detection when Homebase 3 launched, it was promised to support floodlights I think originally for end of 2022, of course it kept slipping to mid June and mid August this year!
Of course they also redefined what compatible means, check this out yourself!
https://support.eufy.com/s/articl...HomeBase-3
They split out storage and the bionic mind AI stuff, this is just shady! I would refund my homebase if not already past the refund period!
Emailed support multiple times and they kept saying basically nothing.
Camera quality is ok and no issues, but definitely stay away because they do not advertise accurately.

Are you suggesting water will destroy my outdoor cam if it's plugged into a solar panel? I can't imagine this would be true or why would they be selling these solar panels in the first place?
the selling point of this model is that it has a built-in solar panel on the top, the usb-c charger is for once a while use and it doesn't seem to be water-tight, if u keep the cover in open position.

I'm halfway done switching from wyze stuff to eufy...

Wyze was so good back in the day when everything was free.

None of that forced cloud bs.

Eufy is great, plus is compatible with home assistant.
Ticks all the right boxes.

Can anyone rec a decent 2k pan & tilt camera that allows you to monitor live and recorded video and perhaps control the pan/tilt feature on a computer via either an app or browser, that doesn't require a paid subscription so long as you insert a MicroSD card?

Yeah, I know, asking for a lot but doesn't hurt to ask. I recently got a Kasa pan/tilt 2k indoor camera but only found out after I got it that there's no easy way to view its video on a PC. It's possible but only by going through all sorts of contortions like installing an Android emulator. I like to monitor our security cameras on my PC while doing other things and don't want to be limited to only doing so on a phone or tablet. That just seems stupid even though most people are ok with it.

Right now we have 2 HD outdoor cameras, no pan/tilt, a Wyze 3 and a VimTag F300, and both work on a PC but being HD I'd like to get better resolution AND pan/tilt.

Btw are most such cameras usable on PCs with RTSP with view/control capabilities and is that hard to implement?

Does it need homebase for storage or memory card on device itself?

8GB built into each camera if you don't have Homebase. 16GB built into Homebase with an option to add SATA SSD for 'unlimited' storage'.

I have installed Reolink Trackmix WiFi last week, it's a PTZ camera with two lenses..so far I am pretty happy with it..

I've had Eufy cameras for a couple of years and they have worked well. They have room for improvement, but from the research I did before buying, none of the brands out at the time did everything perfectly. You pick and choose which features matter and which don't. Eufy had more positive going for it than it had negative.

I haven't had to call customer service, so I can't speak to that.

Why is anyone buying these?

You only read headlines.

No one could reproduce this without a username & password. It was sensationalism & click bait at its finest. You had to enable the feature to share with friends and family, off by default.

Got two but will be returning them as I realized that unlike my current S40, these do not have built-in light so make them less useful at night.

Thanks. Nice camera but 5x what I'd like to pay. I'm not looking for outdoor, and just 2k. There are decent cameras that have these for $40 and under, but they don't seem to have PC apps, which is a non-starter for me. Who buys security cameras that can only be viewed on phones?

Is this good? I need one for our side yard area that does not have an easy way to connect power wires.. and don't want to pay monthly subscription fees. Looks like this will handle both my requests.. and being in northern CA we get ample sunlight to charge this on most days.

Only question is will it work with my older homebase2 that came with the wireless doorbell?
Installed one today, it does work wit homebase 2. No complaints, easy to set up

Question to those who bought this.

Does the code work if you add another one to cart?

I think you are trying to combine too many things. Once you start getting into the "real" security cameras at the high end, very few will have these features integrated.

Run something like Blue Iris to handle the monitoring, recording, and interface, and then just buy a nice RTSP camera that has PTZ.
