EDIT: Just tried on my Series S and still no prompt to enable recurring billing. WTH
Upon further research it seems to be YMMV on getting the free month. I'm sure I had gotten it in the past--maybe that's why it doesn't let me have it now since I used it too much or something...

Edit: I guess my credit card company may have declined it thinking it was fraud because it wouldn't let me upgrade to Ultimate with it. So maybe if I had an actual working card on file it would have prompted. Oh well $16 down the drain. 3 years of ultimate for $110-ish still isn't bad though.
edited- redeemed 3 years. However the free upgrade to ultimate cost me $15.
However, if you already have an active Gamepass Ultimate account, the conversion is not 1:1. Don't recall what the conversion rate is at the moment.
If your Gamepass account is currently not active, you can convert however many months of a Gold account to gamepass by purchasing one month of gamepass ultimate. Mine expired in April so I loaded up three years worth of Gold again and then bought one month of ultimate. I got a good deal at the time, but this is the best deal I have seen without messing with VPNs.
