Small but still designed to look like a gas car with too much high blocky hood length and almost no frunk utilization.
Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

Still not too late to cancel your Model 3 order if you FOMO'd into that. This Volvo is worth the wait and wipes the floor of Tesla for less money with much better quality.

Darn no Dirac partnership on this model, I was really looking forward to them implementing it on the entire lineup given how good the sound systems were on the last few models.

Issue is that you finalize the price with a dealer which means "ripped off".

Wipes the floor? The volvo is inferior in literally every manner lol. Range? Heat pump? Size? Warranty? Made where? OTA frequency? Battery size?

I don't understand how it does not qualify for the tax credit but it does for the lease, even though you want to purchase it..

You can possibly lease it shortly then buyout to reap the $7500

I will wait for Fisker Pear for 30k in 2024 which will qualify for tax credit.
Even riskier bet than Volvo. They have failed before, bad track record

This is the pretty much the Volvo version of "Zeeks X" in China.

Seriously considering this. Wife and I don't qualify for the federal tax credit, and we really don't wanna shell out 40k+ for a car.

I think my only EV options are this, the leaf, the Bolt and several Korean offerings.

We can't be the only ones, right?

Does Volvo still take one year to make as many cars as tesla does in two weeks?

This car could be $20,000 and available tomorrow I still wouldn't trade my tesla for it because I don't want to rent a gas car if I'm gonna do a road trip.

This car is made in China by a company called Geely and rebadged as a Volvo. If they start making them in the South Carolina plant, then it'll probably qualify for partial tax credit.

Leases are considered "commercial" purchases so different rules apply for the tax credit. Not all dealerships are passing this savings on to the customer.

You're quoting the stock market for a stock that is a trading vehicle with the highest volumes of any stock of all time? You have lots to learn about life.
Have to love that the guy posting one wrong fact after another ignores that, then tells someone else they have lots to learn... laugh out loud

Gonna go trade in my Volt this week for a Model 3. Also going to reserve this Volvo EX30.. i mean it's refundable anyways. And then worry about comparing Tesla M3 or MY with the EX30 next year when there's more clarity on pricing and specs.

Sure. But this car doesn't actually qualify for the $7500 rebate on a purchase.

It would qualify for one on a lease.... assuming the dealer is willing to pass through the discount (this varies by brand-- some don't pass it through at all--- others do but then mark up the residual/money factor so they end up pocketing the $7500 in the end instead of you)... and the reservation link in the OP is not for leasing.

A lease deal on this might be worth looking at. Next year when someone can actually touch and test one. A purchase probably less so.

Top 10 for what, sales?

Source for Model Y being the best selling vehicle in the world:

https://www.motor1.com/news/66913...r-q1-2023/

https://electrek.co/2023/05/25/te...-to-do-so/

https://www.theverge.com/2023/5/2...r-electric

https://cleantechnica.com/2023/05...a-model-y/

https://www.focus2move.com/world-car-market/

I assume 5 sources will do?

That last is also the source for the Model 3 being the best selling mid-sized sedan in the world.... with the Camry in the #2 spot.

The only sedan of any size with more sales is the compact (and much cheaper) Corolla.
Ok I got it Elon, one quarter of 2023... I originally googled 2022 (a whole year btw), so didn't see any Teslas in the top ten cars for any category last year. It makes sense that they would be selling better this year due to the tax incentive for "American" electrics and the price drop. I doubt it'll be sustainable without subsidies though. I am completely agnostic about all of this, but it sure seems like you're a fanboy.

For size comparison - similar in size to a 2023 Kia Soul

Volvo EX30 - 72.3" W x 61" H x 166.7" L

Kai Soul - 71.0″ W x 63″ H x 165″ L

Volvo is about an inch and a half longer than the Kia
