Polestar and Volvo could step away from traditional gas car design language. For this car you have a pointless for function long hood. You suffer inside because of that misplaced priority with the unnecessary limitation of back seat legroom and less wheelbase. An MG4 is the car to compare for current design of an ev. Good rear legroom. It's got a 2705mm wheelbase vs. 2650mm for this Volvo. 2 inches right there. 4287mm length vs. 4233mm for the EX30. The difference shows in the back door dimension.

I think my only EV options are this, the leaf, the Bolt and several Korean offerings.
We can't be the only ones, right?
What's not clear about the Volvo is if the rebate will be available when your car is ready. I guess I could sign up, keep tabs on the offers, and just cancel if the lease rebate is not honored. I assume I can cancel even when my car comes in if I don't like it after a test drive. I haven't done the "sign up and wait" for a car yet. Hopefully they will be in stock at a local dealer for a test drive Q1 of 2024.
I actually like the wait time as it will give me time to shop around. I also have two cars I'd want to sell rather than trade. As long as the rebate is still around I like the wait time.

Higher quality fit and finish does not make it more "reliable". Most european brands have high fit and finish quality, but most have below average reliability especially when it comes to electronics and that includes Volvo. Consumer report rates Volvo as average to below average for reliability. They rate the model 3 as average in reliability.
